After reading one of the Bee's posts about place cards made by an etsy seller I decided to make these!

I've cut out about 50 so far... it takes forever to cut these things out & put blue dots on them! I'm going to put each guests name on the tail of the plane.

Our table names are airports we've traveled through to get to each other since we're a LDR :)

    hehehehe.... so cute!!

one question: are they intended to keep the drink 'labeled'? or just to mark seats before drinks are poured?

if your friends are anything like mine, there'd be a lot of playing with them and plenty of wet, drippy wings by the end of the night. But hopefully your friends are more mature than my gang *rolls eyes*

@daydream: they're just to mark their seats!! Our tables will have water goblets, but wine isn't being poured until right before the first course :) Also, at our wedding theres going to be like 10 people my age... the rest are all 35+ so I hope they'll behave :)

    Thanks :)

We have a good budget, but I want to stretch it where ever I can. If I see it online & there's a chance I can make it first, I'll try! lol I could pay $1 each to have these placecards or I could cut them out a couple nights a week infront of the tv or watching a movie. I'm a major multitasker & for the most part just don't know how to sit still lol. Also, sleep is overrated.

@kmattso: I didn't pick the name recessionista for no reason!! I'm cheap, but still want a fab wedding. I wanted style for my wedding, but without going over budget. lol if anything it  has gotten me more deals on things like photographers & an excuse to invite less people that I HAD to invite vs wanted to :)

My wedding is truly going to have my mark all over it (plus a lot of blood, sweat & tears...) lol

love it!! i once hand punched 200 round tags for a bridal show :D... man who knows what they would have cost me, but i had the cardstock laying around so it was very cost effective for me!! i love your name btw and unfortunately i have a tendency to show my brides on a budget how to make things that i would make (for a tiny fee) so they can get the item they want.

@crebre80: start a "DIY" blog & link it to your profile?? I've seen some member/vendors who just post their "ideas" (really products) right on the boards & nothing happens to them! Oh geez, I'm NOT suggesting that... lol I like that you're careful about your vendor status!

I want to start a regular blog anyway.. i'd LOVE to apply to be a bee but um yeah what are good blog sites? BTW I wouldn't start it to sell my products just show brides that you can do anything on a budget as long as you don't run into sh.tty online vendors (okay my bad I got burnt this week)...

that's really cute. could you create these on your computer (shapes already dotted) so you only have to print and cut?

we had a travel themed wedding too and loved it!

@mrspaetz: I only need about 20 more.. that's about 4 sheets, so it's not too bad. They're already traced out, just have to cut some more :) I could have probably gone that route, but it was just easier for me to draw it myself!

@crebre: lol you're an "-ista" too!! I look forward to tons of DIY paper porn!

I love these place cards.  Cute and creative.  I am also impressed by all the cutting, doesn't your hand cramp up?

@carbon: I've been cutting these planes out randomly here and there over the last month. I'm in no hurry to get them done & I only have about 20 left to cut. I cut out the curve w/ scissors & I use an exacto knife for all the straight edges. Its not as tedious as it looks. The little dots are actually more time consuming than cutting the planes!

Such a cute idea! I love that you're using airport names instead of table numbers! Good luck finishing up the rest of those! They're fantastic!

@AnnieAAA: they are definitely worth the work!

The next part is going to be putting names on the planes... Not sure what the best way to do that is. I don't like my writing at all. Ahhh!
