Aisle Decorations?

I'm at a loss as to how to decorate the aisle in our ceremony space. An aisle runner is included in our ceremony package, so I won't be going that way. We're not allowed to use real flower petals, so that's out. And I was thinking pomanders and ribbons draped from the chairs until I realized that there's no way to hang anything off the plastic chairs that are provided.

Do I just give up and not do anything?

You could try to find free standing shepard's hooks and hang pomanders off of them.

You could also put sashes around the backs of each chair.

Also, check with your venue to see if they have pictures of what other brides did.

My venue doesn't allow real flower petals either - so I'm currently thinking about doing silk flower petals. Same look, no mess. Maybe they allow that?

They allow the silk petals, but I just don't want to think about sweeping them up at the end of the night.

Ooh, I saw something from Martha (or another bride or somewhere) that had clear vases (hurricane ones?) with a lit pillar candle and some vases gems or something in them. They were spaced every couple of feet - and it's something you might be able to multipurpose into a centerpiece or something for the reception.

Kind of like this, without the aisle of flowers.

I like the hurricane vase with candle idea!

Also you could decorate the arbour with flowers and tulle and/or put standing flower arrangements on either side of the arbour!

now I'm thinking about using potted flowers. Usually they are pretty cheap at Home Depot around that time of year. I don't think it'll be dark enough at 6PM for candles to really work and my centerpieces are all candles, so that might be a little much.

You are in the Los Angeles area.  You can go downtown and find chair covers for those specific chairs.  I found them for $2/each.

So, I went to an event this weekend in Palos Verdes, CA and saw this.  The flowers were designed by Massey's House of Flowers.  The parasols and lanterns were purchased from Jadetime.com.  I just love the colors and how the flowers tie together so well with the lanterns and parasols.  I did not think about doing something like this...but I might be changing my mind.

This might work for you as aisle decorations.
