Well a lot of churches, Catholic and not, do not even permit petals and/or aisle runners. (Mine did, but I've heard on here, that several don't.) Ithink that there is a "mess" factor, but also a safety issue with these things. I guess too many churches have had someone fall and sue.
So my advice would be before you make any plans on these things, to pick your church first.

I'm getting married in a Catholic church - havent selected one yet since it will be a destination wedding. I started a thread on aisle runners and I'm leaning towards not having one. The other day my mom brought up a good point reguarding their potential use ...
We were browsing through the aisles in Michaels as we debated the costs of fresh flower petals vs fake petals (for my flower girls) ... My mom said it would be cheaper to buy a bunch of fresh flowers from a wholesale store and tear off the petals. But I said fake flowers could go a long way - from the ceremony to decorating the reception afterwards to possibly reselling them after the wedding. She argues that sure, I can resure them at the reception but who will "collect" or be in charge of "clean up" of those petals after the ceremony? Is that people use aisle runners for? Do people even reuse flowergirl petals?
I hate thinking of these petals as single functioning items. They aren't cheap.
Ideas?
