@sarg88:  I drove a bit to Hartville and went to Doreen Leaf Bridal, and they were awesome. I also went to Toula’s Bridal in Canfield (a bit longer of a drive) and they had an awesome selection as well and were sooo nice to me. i met the owner, who was really great.  Doreen leaf allowed pictures, but Toula’s said they only allowed pictures of your favorite dress.  Catan’s in Strongsville has a huge selection of gowns, but not as great of customer service.

In terms of budget, I saw a ton of dresses at Catan’s below 1k. Doreen Leaf went up to around 2k, and Toula’s went from under 1k up to 4k. In terms of style, Doreen Leaf had a ton of satin gowns and not so much lace, whereas the other two had a pretty good mix!

Hope you have fun!

I bought my gown out of state, but I’ve heard good things about Catan’s in Strongsville.  I went to Henri’s Cloud 9 in Minerva way back in high school for my prom dress and found their alterations team to be great; their whole upstairs is bridal, and I know they carry a fair number of midrange designers.

I had my alterations done at Dreams to Realities bridal in Medina and had a good experience. They seem to run a smaller shop for gowns but still carry some decent designers (Maggie Sottero, Casablanca, etc.), and I like that they contract independent seamstresses they match you with (Fittings are still done at the store, but if for example you need to schedule a fitting sometime the shop is closed, the seamstress can arrange it.)
