I'm a Bama bride, but not getting married in Bama....just didn't have the type of venue I wanted! Where are you getting married at?
I'm getting married in Alabama in May 2010! I've lived here all of my life and I love it here. We are getting married in North Alabama at my Fiances Aunt and Uncle's Home. Gotta love family!
I was born and raised in Alabama, and I'm getting married in Cullman on October 24 of this year! :)

Getting married in Mobile in August of 2010. It will be as hot as the dickens that time of the year...but guess you have to make with what you have!

I was born and raised in Alabama! Getting married May 22, 2010 in a small town south of Selma! I am getting married in a church that was built in 1851 and very vintage/rustic and having the reception on my parents farm! Super excited! I live in Gulf Shores which I have a feeling is going to be tough come closer to the wedding! I am going to want to be up there all the time!
@bethanyleigh -- Obviously I just found this thread but I'm from Cullman too! I hadnt seen this because I'm getting married in Atlanta and had no reason to look, but my best friend just got engaged and im researching venues to help her out! but how exciting! always fun to see a Cullman friend!

Well, i'm from Alabama! I lived there until I went to Basic Training. But Alabama will always be my home. :)
I currently live in South Korea but I was raised in Auburn, I flew back to Auburn and had my wedding amongst family and friends, November 13,2010.

Is anyone else having to negotiate Alabama's football schedule for a fall wedding?
I am sure I lost some guests to the game due to me being from Auburn and they were playing Georgia the week of my wedding. People asked me why we did that but we are military and were flying in from Korea so the least people could do was attend no matter what. I love football but it doesn't run my life...good luck all.
I got married in Birmingham October 2009! I'm a wedding photographer and now that I'm married I get to live vicariously through other brides!
I'm an Alabama bride getting married on April 30, 2011 at Annabella at Cedar Glen in Huntsville, AL!!! I'm so excited & cant wait for April to get here! I went to school at Auburn University in Auburn, AL (War Eagle!!!) I currently live & work In Decatur, AL. Any other local brides out there??? I still need a florist & videographer (& a few other things) & would love to get any advice or suggestions on vendors!
@Houndstooth: I didn't check back on this thread for a while. I have no idea yet. We don't even have a date set. But it'll probably be in Dothan.
I got engaged in Seaside, FL! I love that place! I would have loved to get married in Seaside (what a gorgeous location for a wedding!!!) but we were worried a lot of our family would not be willing to travel (even if it is only a few hours away) to attend our wedding.

I am already married but I am renewing my vows next may. I am originally from Montgomery. Born and raised there..but me and my family live in Mobile.
@wedinred: I listed my vendors below (with their websites if you want to check them out). My wedding isnt until April 30 so I havent actually used them yet but will post reviews after the wedding.
Regarding venue -I also love the Huntsville Botanical Gardens as a wedding venue! I didnt know they did weddings until after we booked our venue & I recently saw some pics of a couple that got married there & it truly looked magical...GORGEOUS!

Venue - Annabella at Cedar Glen (has beautiful outdoor garden area & chairs, tables, etc all included...also comes with really nice & organized wedding coordinator (Karen - the owner) www.annabellaweddings.com
We're having our rehearsal dinner at Carrabas (in the enclosed patio area they have for private parties). I cant think of any others right now (we havent hired a videographer yet) but let me know if you have any other Q's about people I've met with or anything.
Any other Alabama brides around Weddingbee lately? I'm getting married in the Shoals area, and was wondering if anyone else is.
