Hi!
Albany is one of the areas I cover as a planner as well so here's a list of florists that you can check out:
Hope this helps if you have any other questions PM me.
We're not using a florist, but I LOVE Fleurtacious Designs work in all the pictures I've seen. I love reading local photographer blogs and her work looks fabulous in all of them.
We worked with Michael at Ambiance, he was wonderful. He had great ideas, was very willing to try things and just made it all so easy. I would highly recommend them for anything. Good luck
We had contacted My Favorite Things florist, and they have offices in Albany and Saratoga Springs, I think. I don't want to say that they're bad and don't worth with them, but they were awful with communication. When we first started e-mailing (which we needed to do since we were planning an out-of-state wedding), they were great and enthusiastic. After we sent an e-mail of what we were looking for, they stopped responding, and ignored several e-mails and phone messages. Needless to say, we didn't sign with tham because that made me really nervous. They ended up contacting me four months after and said, "Okay, now we have the time to talk to you." Yikes!
We used Posie Peddler in Saratoga, and they were good, not great. Wonderful customer service, but our flowers ended up not being what we wanted in the end, even with detailed ideas and stuff.
Thanks, all! We ended up going with Michelle @ Ambiance Florals. They were amazing during the meeting, had great ideas and could accomodate everything we wanted at a reasonable price. We're very happy with the decision!
To other Albany bees, when should I book my florist. We're getting married in late July, but live in Richmond, Va - and I don't want to book a florist just over the phone (unlike what I had to do for my photography :-\) We are going up for Easter. Is that enough time to book a florist for a July 24, wedding? HELP!!!!
I remember calling Fleurtacious in like April or May last year and they were already booked on my date... and that was just about a year before my wedding! I was shocked!
I'm sure there are lots of florists who don't need to be booked way in advance, but apprently with the popular ones you do. We're going with Firefly, and I know they do great work. Tina is so helpful and patient.
I know it sounds weird but Central Market Florist (yes, Price Chopper) is also great. Everyone I know who used them for their weddings was really happy with their flowers and you can't beat their prices. Peterson's Florist in East Greenbush and Surroundings in Colonie are both really good too.
@oneflute: Ambiance was booked every weekend in June EXCEPT for my wedding when I met with them in November (7 months out) I would think that Easter would be cutting it REALLY close for July.

Sorry, there are no users yet.
FMIL is paying for the flowers and we're supposed to go meet with florists over Thanksgiving. Apparently I have been left in charge of finding said florists!
WeddingWire and Google have been no help. Does anyone from the Albany area have any experience with local florists? We're going to have a pretty big order -- 16 in the wedding party, 140 guests, etc.
