I've used Inkubook in the past and was only somewhat happy. I read a ton of reviews as well and I've started making mine with Adoramapix. I like how it's turned out so far, it's been very easy to format. Still haven't had it printed yet so I can't give you info on how it turns out. It does bug me that they have a set page range and you can't pay per page, but it looks like I'll have enough for what I want. I've heard great things about their page and picture quality, that's why I picked them. We shall see.
I would let a professional do it. BUT, since your budget is about a couple hundred dollars, I've seen that a lot of professionals say if you want to go the route of the nonpro, to go with mpix. Even my photographer recommended them. She said their picture quality is superb. Adoramax is another one I've read about too that gets good revies. I saw on the boards last week that they were having a 30% off sale.
Ps, why are your pictures taking so long? 4 months is a bit of a wait :(
@bRooklynRocks: don't even talk to me... He's a total jackass is what he is. I keep getting excuses after excuses.. I'm setting hubby on him on Monday - see if that makes a difference!
I'll have a look at mpix so, thanks!
@ms.oregon.state: Thanks for replying, you happy with quality and value?
If you search there is a thread that has a really good album review with pictures and great comparisons of the different types of albums, that really helped me decide that I wanted to go for Adormapix, because they have thicker pages and the center really lies flat
Thanks Bells . I think I remember that thread alright, must check it out.
@aunt pol: I love love love the books I and my friends have gotten from them!! and they constantly have discounts and coupons. I got two books - 8x12, 50 pages, glossy photo cover - for $75!!!
There are so many options and things you can do. I have used shutterfly and mypublisher and picaboo is by far the best I have used!
@aunt pol: It's getting too expensive to make the album I want through my photographer so I think I'm just going to pay for the high res images and do it myself.
Here is a link to a great review where they compared 12 photo book places, including: Picaboo, Treasure-Book.com, Blurb, Inkubook, Shutterfly, AdoramaPix, Kodak Gallery, MyPublisher, SnapFish, ArtsCow, Photobook Canada, Mpix, & Viovio.
(did a search on WB & found this link posted by another user, FutureKMM):
EDIT: http://www.photobookgirl.com looks to be an amazing resource all about photobooks & tells you deals & about sizes & pricing from a ton of companies. Just found it because the link I posted earlier is also used by Mrs. Meercat's blog & this new link was recommended in one of her comments by Mrs. Emerald.
my friend used adoramapix, and I was AMAZED by the results. Her album looks so professional, and the book itself was very high quality. I was just having this discussion w/ someone else at work yesterday, and she really like the website layout and how easy it was to create a book. Seriously, once I get the money, I'm using adoramapix - it just looks so professional and I was astounded when she said she got it online!
Somerset is the closet you will get to a pro album. Adoramapix is nice, bit it's still a photobook to me, not an album
I always use mypublisher.com and now they have lay flat pages!

I've been watching different reviews for some different album providers for whenever our pics are FINALLY done.
Separate question - is nearly 4 months a reasonable amount of time to wait for pics? No? Didn't think so. Moving on:
Hubby is an experienced designer, so I'm not really worried about formatting/layout etc. I just wanted your opinions on which company provide the best quality paper & finish (outside of the professional-only outfits). I don't know exactly what our budget will be yet, but I'm assuming a couple hundred at this point.
Any input? I've read for & against points for Adoramapix, Blurb, the Fish place... Anywhere brilliant I'm missing?
