I would like to know too. Maybe something even better than blurb or mypublisher.
I am planning on making our own albums with www.mypublisher.com. I made a baby photo book for my son and it came out great. I will probably make hardcover albums for the parents and the regular ones for other family members. The albums made by our photographer were outrageously expensive!! I am excited about getting to create these ourselves and really personalizing them to my liking.
The only one I know of is blurb. You probably already know the site, but in case you don't here's the URL:
Have you actually ordered an album from MyPublisher? I ordered the Deluxe Hardcover version with the black leather for my engagement photos and I thought it was actually very nice. I would think that it would definitely be better than the traditional album with the mat pages!
If you're looking for a storybook like album, try Graphistudio. http://www.graphistudio.com/en/index.html
When I looked into them several months back, I think they only work with photographers directly. They may work with graphic designers too, but I can't remember. If you like them, send them an email as they were pretty quick in responding. You must log in to post.

Hello Hive!
FI and I booked our photographer last night (yay!) and we're going with a package that doesn't include an album. We're getting the digital negatives so I can print the pictures myself. I'm graphic designer so I'd like to design my own album, but I don't know where to print it. I want something professional looking... nicer than the typical snapfish or ibook album. Does anyone have any suggestions for something like this? I'd even consider a traditional album, the kind with the leather cover and black matte pages. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
