I haven't toured Casa Esencia personally, but I think it is a beautiful and swanky venue. Perfect for exactly what you said -- cocktail lounge reception. If that is the feel of your wedding and it isn't too formal then that place is perfect and I wouldn't worry about it being disjointed. Have you talked to their events manager? How is the pricing? If they provide a lot of staff for your event I can't see it being too bad. It looks absolutely gorgeous.

Hello ABQ Brides
My FI and I moved to ABQ about 8 months ago and we are making ABQ home. We are planning our wedding at the Hyatt Downtown and we love the place. We looked at Casa but decided againt it because it was a little pricey for less. We was able to get a complete package for a great deal at the Hyatt. We are having both the ceremony and reception at the Hyatt. Also, 85% of our guest are OOT guest and I didn't really like the rooms and layout of ABQ Inn.
Just an update,
I toured Casa Esencia and loved it. But it just wasn't in our budget and I was STILL concerned about the broken up format.
We've booked with Sandia Golf Club!
I would like to know where are some good places for a indoor wedding? Has anyone been to Hotel Andeluz?

I don't see many ABQ brides around. Here goes a shot in the dark.
I've fallen in love with Casa Esencia for my wedding reception. Has anyone been to a wedding reception there? How did the layout work... with it being a converted house and all. I've toured the place and the idea of just a chill cocktail type/lounge reception appeals to me, but I guess I can't shake the feeling that it's going to be...disjointed. Anybody?
