Ok, so i know there are a lot of post about open bar and the drink ticket tackiness, but i have a situation i can’t find any posts about.
the details: Total guest being invited 265
– Thursday= wedding function with about 85 of the guests invited
– Friday = rehearsal dinner about 50 of the guests invited
– Saturday = wedding & reception
– Sunday = brunch with everyone invited
Because some guests will be in town for the Thursday function, plus the fact that many guests will come from out of town the night before in order to attend the morning ceremony — there will be guests at the hotel on Friday that are not part of the RD.
To make sure they are taken care of, we are appointing “ambassadors” and having a welcome reception for these guests providing a casual dinner between a set number of hours in the hotel bar and lobby. (which is quite nice!) However, because the bar will still be open to other guests at the hotel, we need to figure out a way to keep from paying for the alchohol of strangers!!
the only thing I can think of is drink tickets in the welcome bags but would that be seen as tacky or cheap??? If so, any other suggestions??
(OH! and I thought about having just one thing on Friday, but my MIL is so overwhelmingly excited to be throwing her own RD for her people, that I don’t have the heart to suggest nixing it!)
