I checked out Alide, it is lovely! BYOB is actually cheaper than most alcohol packages and Jeffery Miller will help you figure out how much you need to purchase (I would guess like $10-15 per person depending on how expensive you go with the booze).
If the venue is far, there are a lot of little B&Bs in Doylestown where people can stay who are coming in from out of town. If you are worried about those who are over an hour away coming late as long as your wedding travel time is not during a weekday you should be okay with people coming on time.
I'm havingh my wedding at Aldie this August. You're concerns are 100% my concerns. When is your wedding? I'll let you know how mine goes!

Hi Bees!! I recently toured Aldie Mansion in Doylestown, PA. The venue is about an hour away from where I live and most of our guest will have to travel an hour or more to get there. I am concerned with the travel time and people arriving late.
My other concern is that the ceremony and reception will all take place at the venue, and while I LOVE the grounds, I am nervous about the amount of time alloted. We would have our ceremony at 6:30pm in April or June, the cocktail hour would begin at 7pm-8p and the reception would be from 8-11:30 or 12pm if we paid for the additional half hour. I am one of those brides who does not want a first look but would like to be present at atleast some of my cocktail hour. Is this even possible??
Another concern is that the venue is BYO... How much would it costfor alcohol for about 150 guests?
I absolutely loved the venue but am worried about some of these factors. Let me know if any of you have experience here or suggestions, please!!
Thank you!
