I would get the round one. I have a marquise shaped alexandrite ring and in the center (where there is light leakage) it doesn't show the color as well. It looks like the colors are mixed more often. Its never either green or purple, because in the middle its kind of both. It might just be my ring, but I think a lot of it has to do with the shape of the stone. I think you will have less light leakage with a round stone. I also prefer the pave to the larger sidestones.
I think the first ring with that blue/teal stone from the second ring would be PERFECT. I love that blue color. It's like the ocean.
@shirasagi: Alexandrite changes colors. It looks green/teal in natural light and purple in fluorescent light.
Love the second one. The prongs feel a little intrusive on the first.

Based on the pictures, it looks like neither are natural alexandrite (which is totally ok, but I'd hate for you to get them thinking they were natural stones). I like the second one best!
I liked the second one aswell. I liked the prongs and general design of that ring.

Love108, you're correct, I'm not nearly rich enough to be in the market for a natural of anywhere near the carat size I would want! I'm totally okay with that :] And thanks for your opinion! :D
Thanks so much for your thoughts, everyone! I literally agree with all of you because I'm in love with them both, sadly for me hahaa. I even asked my mom (thats how torn I am) despite the fact that I didn't think either were her style, really. Her engagement ring was a yellow gold solitaire with a 1 carat diamond. But she said she adores them both and understands why I'm so stuck! But what I decided to do was to order both and if I'm still conflicted after seeing them in person I'll let my fiance decide and be ecstatic either way, especially because I love them both and I'll know it was the one he loved the most too :D I think thats the best plan I can come up with at this point because I'm so indecisive :/

@Riley143: Please post pics when you get the ring! I'm especially curious to hear about your ordering experience if you go with ring #2 because I'm dying to see real life pics of jewelry from that site. Both rings are gorgeous, though!
Tough call! I like the second one. The setting is more unique and I like the colour better, too!
