The dresses will not be anywhere near the quality of the other 3 brands you listed. Only one dress I tried had good structure and it was a $1500 dress, so I don’t think you’ll be pleased after trying the others.

My dress is AA and I tried others before it.  I personally love Alfred Angelo dresses, they all felt really comfortable to be in, which was a huge factor for me.  I’m sure some of the higher end brands will be of better quality, but I could never imagine shelling out a couple grand on a dress I will wear one day.

I personally did not like the quality of Alfred Angelo dresses.  They just looked ordinary and over priced.  I actually like the quality of the designer davids bridal dresses much much better. By designer I mean designer lines like vera wang, oleg cassini, melissa sweet and so on. Look online first because what you see on line is exactly what they carry.  So if you see a dress you love then go for an appointment.

My dress was Alfred Angelo, and I adored it. It was the Snow White 207… Strapless, sweetheart neckline. I went to Victoria’s Secret before trying on dresses, because I knew I wanted a strapless dress, and I am quite busty for how small I am.. I was a size 2 dress (still had to be taken in) but I have 32DDD. So… I wanted to have a good bra! duh. haha Anyway… The bodice was so well constructed that I didn’t even need a bra! Held the girls right where I would want to all day long, no bra or adjusting required. And it wasn’t even a corset back… Just a zipper! I was beyond impressed. AND since I have family that works at Disneyland, I got 10% off my disney-line dress 🙂 Its totally worth your hour long drive, every dress I tried on there was supportive enough in the bodice to accomodate my large bust 🙂

I tried on a few AA dresses and they were a lot better than DB. However, I ultimately chose a Maggie Sottero dress. I love the way they fit and, in in my opinion, AA are not quite as structured. They are decent dresses with decent support, but being larger up top myself, Maggie Sottero gowns were the only ones I did not need to try on with a bra. (still plan on wearing a bustier though!) If you want to keep looking, they are worth trying on.

@S.Elizabeth.G:  I definitely think they’re worth an hour trip! Who knows, maybe your dress is there!

My dress was an AA dress and I loved it! It was so much more comfortable than any DB dress I tired on ( no offense to anyone who bought a DB dress!). I was very happy with the quality. I don’t regret buying an AA dress at all

My dress is Alfred Angelo and I am in love with it. It is beautiful and classic in my opinion and a great price for the great quality. I have a big bust as well (34 DDD-but it is too tight so usually wear a 34 G) and it fits my bust great! This is my dress below (one of the Ariel styles). I liked it much better than the DB dresses and other designers tried.

Okay I feel like I’m taking crazy pills here but every dress I tried on at AA was plain polyester, low quality, and the details/beading were not refined at all.

I cannot imagine spending the $1200 they were asking, for those materials.

Could you go try on the gowns but make a day of it? Try on dresses, get lunch or something and maybe find another bridal shop out that way, too? That’s what I have to do. Everything is a good 30 mins or more away and I can’t see going there for 1 thing.

@S.Elizabeth.G:  If you don’t mind, where in CT are you? I tried dresses at the Manchester store.
