Alot of these “american” based companys have their dresses made in china. That goes for wedding dresses and clothes in general. Its all about the quality of seamstresses and fabric that’s used. Im sorry that they miss informed you about where your dress was made. And im sorry youre disappointed with the color. Always be sure to look something up on the net before you purchase it. I wouldnt stress too hard about the dress taking a few more weeks. You have plenty of time to get alterations done.  Try not to stress about these things. You already purchased the dress and there’s not much you can do but wait. Enjoy your engagement and the rest of your wedding planning without letting this bring you down.

You put your wedding on hold over a dress?! That’s very extreme. The most important thing at a wedding should be getting married. If you didn’t want the dress on ivory I don’t understand why you didn’t choose a different dress once you found out about the beading issue.

@FREEPEOPLECHICK:  if your wedding date is in june of next year, that should give you enough time to find a new gown without having to postpone the wedding. not sure if you booked a venue with that date or other vendors. my gown was ordered march 1st and was in by the end of june. good luck to you and sorry that this happened :-/

Just saw your previous post about the dress. I am confused on why you thought the beading on the white dress would be a different color. Also if your fiance purchased a piece of platinum jewelry for you to wear it will match perfectly with your dress.

Honestly, if the dress isn’t suited to your needs, I think you should sell it to recover some of your $$$ and order a new dress (from a different bridal shop). No way I would postpone my wedding because I didn’t like my outfit!!

You put your wedding on hold because some tiny adornments on a dress (that not one person will notice) don’t match your FI’s adornments?

OK…for one thing, ivory and white are pretty interchangeable. Especially in pictures. Ivory photographs white for the most part, and you DON’T HAVE TO MATCH YOUR HUSBAND. Seriously, you don’t. You will still be married at the end of the day EVEN IF your beading doesn’t match the buttons on his uniforms. And guess what? you will be the only person who notices.

I think you need to reassess why this is so important to you. If you loved the dress and the way it made you feel, than that is what matters. And if this is the worst thing that happens to you while planning a wedding, than you are very lucky.

@FREEPEOPLECHICK:  How can they refuse to allow an exchange when it was their own salesperson who misrepresented the dress you purchased? At this point I wouldn’t be concerned with sparing the salesperson because I knew her in high school…be straight with them and tell them it’s their store’s fault and demand some type of fix that works for you. Can you go back there in person?

If matching him is so important, it seems like it would be better to have the white dress than the ivory one, regardless of beading?

But that’s irrelevant now. So the plan is to remove the beading and the top layer and replace them with a white layer and gold beading? Is that possible?

🙁 I’m sorry you’re dealing with this

What material is the dress? Maybe you can find a seamtress that will bleach white for you? As for the beading, try doing it yourself to save some $$.
