Hi Bees 🙂
I need your help pleasseee. We’re having an alice in wonderland theme wedding and would love an alice in wonderland inspired reading for the ceremony. Has anyone got any ideas or if any of you creative bees could come up with anything because I’m rubbish at this sort of thing. Looked forward to see what you come up with 🙂

pearllavender: There are some wonderful quotes from Through the Looking-Glass, perhaps you could do a compilation of the most thoughtful ones? If you have read it, that helps, but you could also search the Internet for appropriate quotes.. Jabberwocky is not so appropriate (lol) but the ending is sweet as are other parts.

Hmm, this is a bit tricky as I’m personally not a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland. What I would recommend is that you and your FI read through the book (either together or on your own), and highlight the passages that stand out to you. Like, why did you choose Alice as your theme? Obviously it means something important to you, so by reading through it you might be able to find the particular spots that especially stir some emotion in you. From there, you might be able to pick out bits and pieces to work together into your reading.

pearllavender: I can’t wait for your recap! Those are my favorite books ever! I don’t know how many quotes would work in a wedding reading though. Here are a couple you might be able to find a way to work in:

pearllavender: This might be a helpful site for you:
What types of readings were you hoping to get? Some about love? Just something to tie into your theme? I’m currently struggling with readings because FI and I are not having a religious ceremony, so we aren’t going to have any Bible readings. I also have a quirky taste in many things, so I pulled a Neil Gaiman short story to be read, but everyone I’ve shown has just kind of seemed confused, so I opted against it.

pearllavender: One of my favorite quotes is, “Alice: How long is forever? White Rabbit: Sometimes just one second.” – I think you could tie that in to your vows saying that within just a few seconds you have promised each other forever.
