woo hoo for weddingbee classifieds
i know the feeling i have been putting off my recaps just so i can relive it all over again. no wonder so many brides try to get into the wedding business after a wedding...i never want it to be over.
im so thankful i have 4 other weddings to attend this year haha...i must finally be at that age.
I sort of wanted to have another wedding just so I could buy and wear that gorgeous lace gown.
I really loved your lace reception dress in particular. That's great that you were able to sell them and recoup a lot of the costs. I sometimes wonder how I will feel when it is all over. I guess I will have to find something else to obsess over!
Just wanted to say congratulations on selling all of your dresses! I'm sure you made four ladies very happy. If it makes you feel better, for the wedding bees will always consider the lacy dress YOUR dress... I for one can't imagine it on anyone else!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I liked knowing your dress was out there, so if by some miracle I manged to lose 30 lbs in the next 3 months, I could still have bought it.
But seriously, good for you! Even without the dresses in your possession, you still have all the pics and memories of wearing them. You were such a gorgeous bride! It's nice to know that others will get to wear them, too! Also, I'm sure it's a nice feeling to have the closet space back and recoup some cost!
Thanks everyone, you guys are so sweet! You put a big smile on my face at work :)
@cisco: Patience, time, offering a very fair price, lots of pictures, open communication and more patience. I was always very honest about the condition of the dress, the fit and why I was selling them; and always ready to answer any questions.
@meliss: i just commented on the MOB thread about how you and your mom's dresses took my breath away. Ahhh you will always be a beautiful bride to me, meliss!
@ostrich: Thank you so much Miss Ostrich! I'm looking forward to your recaps, you're almost there...
No more stuffed in the trunk you haven't told us about yet? (that's one of my favorite WB stories ever. :D)
This is good though - I'm happy for you that they all sold in the end! What new adventures await you and your closet space?
@daydreamwanderer: LOL, sssshhh...My husband asks the same thing, "are you sure there are no other hidden dresses anywhere?". Other than my inexplicable wedding dress obsession, believe it or not I'm not a shopper so no more dresses for me. The closet space will continue to be used as a rest home for my clothes leftover from junior high and as a favorite hide-and-seek spot for my cats.
I loved your dresses! I had a dream last night that I bought two wedding dresses, on top of the one I already have. And now I kind of want to go dress shopping lol
You are definitely my hero, selling 4 dresses. I can't get rid of one.
BTW--you are considered a bride for a year, so still a couple months to go:)
@Georgia Bee: Is that really true? Because I don't ever want to give up this bride feeling! Atleast, not until I get the New Mom feeling. lol
Congrats on selling them all! I haven't seen them but I bet they're gorgeous since you can ID any designer!!!
Glad you were able to sell them all and able to recoup some of the costs, though i'm sad too as your reception dress was so YOUR dress. As i've said before you were and are stunning. ;)
@meliss: Did you sell them locally or did you ship them? Did you use paypal? (I'm also looking to sell my dress and trying to figure out the best way...)
@ShannonBB: I sold one locally, two out of state, and one out of the country! I used Paypal for one of the non-local ones and Escrow.com for the other two. Things went smoothly with all of them but I prefer Escrow.com in general. The process is just more clear and straightforward to me. I know there's a seller protection in Paypal for fraudulent chargebacks but it wasn't very clear to me how that worked or if my transactions would qualify if there was a problem.
From what I saw you were a beautiful bride, so you have no reason to be sad :)
@maudemaisha: If you click on my name and go to "Classifieds" under my profile, you can see 3 of them :)

I know, I know...It's been 10 months since my wedding and I haven't been a bride for a long time, but somehow having dresses to sell kept me in that mindset still. I would check the used dress sites with the excuse of posting mine, I would correspond with other brides, go through my wedding pics to send people...And once in a while I would glance at the beauty still sitting in my closet and thinking maybe I can just keep it and wear it again. Now I finally have my closet space back, I recooped a good chunk of the silly money I spent on four dresses, I love reading happy emails from the brides who bought my dresses and love them, so I'm really happy about all that. Still, part of me feels a little sad too. Now it's their turn with the pretty dresses and my time is officially over. Any other newlywds feel like that?
Oh I sold my last dress through Weddingbee classifieds so a shoutout to that!
