Have you been? Was it for your honeymoon, wedding, or just a vacation?

My first wedding was actually in Jamaica! And I’ve been there for a vacation since then

Where did you stay?

Riu Ocho Rios both times

What did you pay?

first time was over New Years and cost $3300, second time was in January and was $2100 (each for both prices)

Would you recommend it? Why/Why not?

yes!! Such a fun country, amazing people, great food, beautiful scenery, tasty drinks and just an amaxing time all around. The weather has always been great when I’ve been there and I have never felt unsafe. I really don’t like Mexico so for an AI vacation i see Jamaica as a great alternative!

Just an FYI on the nude beach thing – the Riu is family friendly and had quite a few topless woman. It doesn’t bother me (European) but I wanted to point it out.

Also, we stayed in an ocean front room each time and the view was incredible!

@MrsPanda99:  We’re going back to CN 🙂 We couldn’t NOT go back, haha. Originally we had wanted to go to Paris for our 6-month, but we just bought our house and I don’t want to go all the way to Europe for less than 10 days. Plus we got an awesome deal! Another week at CN – airfare included – for less than $3500.

This past summer we stayed at Couples Negril for a week long vacation, I think with flights and everything we paid around $3500.00. We had an ocean front but in my opinion none of their rooms are really ocean front. Like we could see the ocean from the balcony but you didn’t walk straight onto sand.

We would absolutely go back, everyone was really nice, the red flag service was awesome, I’m particularly picky when it comes to food but I loved everything we ate.

As for the nude beach thing it really isn’t a big deal, it’s closed off/fenced in and if you stay on the opposite side of it you won’t ever even notice. Our room happened to be right next to it so we tended to stay on that side (not the nude area) but the only issue we ever had was that you could see the nudies walking into the ocean…it’s not like it was a bunch of naked people roaming around freely.

Yes!  We were just there in December for our honeymoon!!

Where did you stay?

Secrets – Montego Bay

What did you pay?

3200 which included airfare from Chicago and a week long all inclusive stay.

Would you recommend it? Why/Why not?

YES!!!  It was wonderful!!!  A HUGE plus was that it was a 10 minute cab ride from the airport.  I loved that.  We loved the entire resort and had an amazing and relaxing time!!!

wedding to my ex was at Sandals Royal Caribbean, but it was in 2001. Either way, it’s gorgeous there and looking at Sandals’ website, they’ve done some amazing things with their resorts!

I haven’t been yet, but Jamaica is our #1 choice for our weddingmoon. I’m interested in seeing what people say!
