This is absolutely yucky! Make sure you report them to the better business bureau. They maybe able to help you get some more of your money back.
I got married in July 2008 and about a few months later i took my dress to all about you bridal (seeing that i had gotten the guys tuxes from Jen) to get preserved and as of today still do not have my gown i gave Jen mylly dress to be sent out to be cleaned and preserved and i wrote a check out for $299.00 and helped her pack it up in the bag and then put it in a box to be shipped out to a company which handles preservations of bridal gowns. That monday i get a call from jen while i am at work and she tells me that she called the company to let them know that she had an order for them and a check enclosed and that she had to redo the box because it turned out that she had pre paid for the preservations and seeing that she owed me 300 i didn't have to pay her for it she would just put the money for the dress and that she had my check and would void it out and give it to me when i saw her so i said ok. well after 4 weeks i called to find out about my dress and if it was in she said no and that she will call them and let me know so after a week i had not heard from Jen and decided to go see her and she told me that the girl who was doing the dress was having a baby and that they were going to have someone else take her jobs. and then i called her and she said it would be in a 2 weeks and so i waited then me and my husband went and she gave us the same excuse and that she would check with the company and call us so finally she calls and says that the lady was back from maternity leave and that they had in fact not done my dress but would have it done asap. so my husband, mother, father, sister and myself have been checking in with jen and she always has an excuse so in august jen calls and tells me that my dress would be in her hands on Monday the 17th. so of couarse on monday we go to the store to get the dress and she tells me that it did not come in and that she would call us when ups dropped it off then she says that she has been back and forth to the hospital with her mother because she has cancer and so towards the end of the week my husband goes by and notices that she is closed so when i call jen the next day she says that my dress came but that ups had to take it back to the company because she was not there and so she would call the company and call me back.... so she calls me back the next day she calls and say that the company would send it to me so i said ok that is fine now her new excuse is that she has my dress and that she has it in her car and she will bring it to my house. so when she did not show i go to the store and she says that my dress is in her trunk but the car was at the shop and she would have it in a day or so.. Now on top of me being very pissed off i find out from the owners of the building that they are kicking her out for non payment of the rent and i still don't have my dress my father went on 9/30/09 and Jen tells my father that she took it out of her trunk because water was leaking and she does not want it to be ruined for him to go the next day so he and my sister to go and she is not there and they go to see the guy in the cleaners and he tells them that Jen was there and told him that she does not have my dress that it was stolen when her car was stolen. and then he tells my father that a few minutes later she came in and hands him a dress and tells him to clean it and give it to me because it was my dress but guess what it is not so i finally called the better business buereu and let them know what she has done and now i have to go to court and file a law suit against her.... I want my dress back that is all i want why does she have to lie i trusted her........
That's terrible! I don't know, it may be too late but if you ordered with a credit card you might be able to tell all of this to your credit card company and get your money back. I only say this because big credit card companies may be able to throw their weight around with the store and get at least some if not all of your money back. Just a thought!

this is about the worst case of bridal rip-off i've ever heard. sounds like pure fraud! wow.
How horrible!!! Sounds like a premeditated scam to me, played on those customers who, having no reason not to trust her, agree to pay in full before they have their dress in hand. I mean, she asks the customer pay in full before the dress even arrives, which it never does, oh, and she's just coincidentally being evicted for non-payment of rent? I'd definitely report her to the Better Business Bureau and contact both consumer protection and an attorney.

Unless you would like to loose all your money and have even more stress added to your wedding. I went to Jen in October 2008 and ordered my wedding dress. Intially she said the dress would be in, in about 4/5 months which would make it March/April for the dress to arrive. I put 200 down on the in October '08 and i went back in in January and Jen told me the dress would be in soon and to give her the rest of the money for the dress. SO i did (now i know this was a mistake) and because i had no reason not to trust her i brought my bridesmaids to get there dresses there. AND because i was orginally going to be married in a church i bought a bolero jacket from her also. When we ordered the bolero and bridesmaid dresses, Jen told us that they would be in June or before. So i go in the shop in March and she says that the dress wont be in until April. I went in, in April and she said the dress will be sent out the 28th of April(2009) and be at the shop the second week of May. So the second week of my rolls around. . . no dress. . .then she tells me the 29th of May. . . . nothing. So by now i am beyond suspicous and call the designer. And i dont get very far because i am not retailer but she does suggest i call other boutiques. So i do, i call 5 different boutiques all across MA and ask each one how long it usually takes for them to get dresses in from this particualr designer and if 8 months seemed long to wait for a dress and if they had issues with this designer (because one of Jens many excuses was that this designer had issues) and ALL of the boutiques i called said they usually got their dress from this designer between 4-6 months and that 8 months was WAAYtoo long and that they had NEVER had any issues with this designer at ALL. The last boutique i called was very sweet and offered to call the designer because they were a retailer and could get more info. Well the lady called me back and said the lady at the designer said that she could not give out any information as to whether or not Jen had even ordered the dress . . only that 8 months was WAY TOO LONG and for me to go and demand my money back. Mind you this is the DESGINERS CALL CENTER telling me to ask for my money back. So then begins my fight for the money back. Jen continues her stories and backtracking and so far i have managed to squeeze 300 out of her which is less then half. AND she also said that she WILL NOT give my bridesmaids their money back either. And am fighting that with her too. Also i did somework for her and she has yet to pay me for that. So altogether we have lost over 1,000 dollars to this woman. She still has not given me the rest of my money. The lasttime i tried to collect from her she told me to meet her at her sop at 8pm and when i arrived the shop was closed up and locked with no sign of life anywhere. I called her that that and she didnt answer the calls. When i finanly got in touch with her and asked her what the hell happened her excuse was "Oh im sorry. . . i've just been really stressed" :o !!!! WTF! And then she told me to come by the shop on Sunday that she would be there until 4. Mind you i live 30 minutes away from her shop, so i called her around 2:15 that afternoon. . .no answer. I continued to call her to no avail. Needless to say i am beyond livid. Thankfully we had decided to elope therefore i no longer needed a dress but if we had not decided to elope i would be up sh*ts creek without a boat never mind a paddle. So please, everyone looking for a wedding dress or formal-wear PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE find somewhere else to shop. If you need a list of reputible shops message me and i will send them to you. Again.
