- Wedding: September 2012
I have 2 half sisters ages 14 and 17, 3 step sisters (our parents have been married since I was 13 and they were younger), 4 cousins and 2 best friends. I have known everyone for over 10 years and share a bond and friendship with each person. I am an “intimate wedding” kind of girl. I would like a maximum of 10 in our wedding party (this includes girls, guys, kids). If I choose to do this there will undoubtly be hurt feelings. To avoid all of this I have decided to have no adults walk down the aisle. Instead I would like to have 4 flower girls/maids (ages 6-7) comprised of soon to be step-daughter, neices and cousin. My FH decided his oldest son would be his best man and i also must include my god son so the entire wedding party will be kids. I would like my besties by my side so I will have them matching my colors and sitting front row for duites like flower holding or dress fixing. . I am excited about breaking tradition but have a few dilemmas:
*How can I acknowledge the sisters/cousins/best friends beforehand since they wont be participating? I would like to still like them to feel improtant, i.e., asking them to NOT be in the wedding by poem…
*What can my ring bearer do other than carry a pillow? He will be 8 and a little old for ring carrying not to mention I dont trust a child wit that task so any creative ideas for him, i.e., a sign.
*Flower girls/maids I have noticed at most wedding the little girls don’t throw very many flowers if any actually make it to the ground so what is an alternative for them?
Sorry so lengthy guys I am a newbie that is filled with ideas…just not the right ones apparently
