a Canon D10 (underwater camera) so I can take it on our honeymoon =). I've been dropping not so subtle hints left and right to close friends, family, FI...let's hope someone gets it. LOL
Mines quite camera oriented:
Sigma 18-200mm lens
Canon 55mm lens
Soft polypropene case for SLR
Compact tripod
and cotton camis
i want NEED some new bras haha - wouldnt mind a nice new handbag either ;)
thrown an ipad on that list too while were at it.
Two things!
*silhouette cameo so I can get crafty
*iPod, since mine was stolen last month
Both are expensive items, so I'm not holding my breath!
Well, I would love for someone to pay off my student loan debt ;)
But realistically, I want the book Inheritance (one of the sequels to Eragon) which just came out. And since both sides of my family stop gifts for grandkids at age 18, FI and I don't do gifts since we're broke, and I'm an only child, I probably won't get anything more than that anyway :P
I gave my husband a list of a bunch of things so he could choose something and surprise me:
iPhone 4s
Amazon Kindle
Northface Denali Jacket
Jo Totes Camera Bag
Fuji Instax Mini
Brown Herringbone and teal TOMs shoes
Holga camera and film
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt 2 DVD.
And I asked for a nice knife set from my mom. I only have one good cooking knife and sadly (weirdly?) we didn't register for knives lol.
Well I sent DH a link to a Canon 60D but not sure he's on board (we're getting a DSLR for "us"). I'm definitely getting Coach Vanessa boots in tan from DH. I told my mom she could contribute to a Botkier Brinks shoulder bag in "saddle" but that may be a pipe dream.
I'd love a 50-200mm lens for my Nikon, and a really nice sunburst mirror!
New hillwalking clothes, mines are falling apart!
Other than that I think my FI is going to get my university dissertation properly printed and bound for me in our university casing since I couldn't afford to have it done when I graduated.
@yellowshoe: I have a Canon D10 and that's exactly why I bought it - it. Is. Awesome. Best investment ever (as we live in FL and are constantly in the water).
I asked my mom, who always gets each "kid" one big present, for a little iPod Nano. Nothing special, but I'm sick of lugging my phone around while I run. Esepecially since we are training for a half, so I spend a LOT of time running haha.
I have no idea what my husband will get me, something small for sure, but it's usually jewelry and beautiful :)
My sister spilled the beans and is giving me a Kitchenaid mixer (love her!) so I am asking for attachments for that, and also a Keurig :)
My DH and I are big time hunters. He's getting me a brand new Matthews Bow! So excited!!!
@MrsWrangler: ahh! everyone has been telling me it's a great camera for underwater use. But with the wedding AND the honeymoon...and I bought a new point and shoot earlier this year sooo FI said I can't spend another $300 on a camera just for underwater use
but I'm really hoping *someone* will gift it to me
Ohh if only we could have registered at Best Buy....
A lot of cameras on the lists this year and Kindles too.
How do the Kindles work exactly (I know the basic concept but wondering do you have to pay for each book or what? I'm so clueless )
Anyone have any good recommendation for a decent camera (that's on my xmas list too) I'm looking for something a step up from a point-and-shoot but not technical enough to be a professional camera and in a budget of around $300 with a good zoom and above 12MP. LOL.
@yellowshoe: Well I sure hope someone comes through for you! My DH would've said the same thing except my old camera was slowly falling apart... We use it as our primary, so both under and over water (and in dirt, and rain, and snow... haha).
-underwater camera
-new laptop
pretty much it, the camera is for Honduras, I'm going with my school and we'll be diving. I feel bad asking for much else since certification and equipment isn't cheap and the cost of the trip is pretty pricey as well.
btw-I have a nook color (the older version) and I absolutely ADORE it, it's so much easier to carry around and it has net if I don't feel like lugging my laptop around campus. I still read a good old fashion book now and again, but I wouldn't trade my nook for the world! Just a little biased opinion
@MrsWrangler: I tried to get the D10 as my camera replacement period too!! But FI said it'd be too bulkly and he was not willing to put it in his pocket (as I so often ask him to do with my cameras) *Sigh*
@StaceyMay81: Yes, you pay for each book, but they're usually heavily discounted from the hardcover sales price. I have 45 books on my Kindle in the past year and it's the best Christmas present I ever got!

I really want to adopt this guy as our Christmas "gift", but we've agreed we will wait until we see what our finances are after the New Year. And DH wants a Sheltie more than a Corgi (I'm open to either) but this guy would fit our situation better than most Shelties I am seeing up for adoption in our area.
I also want a bowl win- but that one might be more of a stretch (seriously Bears, how can we tank so badly on the road?!)
@Knubbsy-Wubbsy: oh my gosh... SO cute! I hope you get him! I might be slightly biased but Corgis are seriously the best dogs ever :)
I really don't have a Christmas list, I guess I'm pretty content! I would kind of like a watch maybe, or maybe some (somewhat inexpensive) jewelry... but I really can't think of anything I desperately want or need.
A new pair of boots, a lemon zester, a slow cooker, a house robe, pajamas and lululemon workout clothes :)
My birthday is next month, so I sent FI a birthday wish today, LOL. And my christmas list.
Birthday: Longchamp Le Pilage bag
Christmas: new ipod
Asking my parents for a sewing machine. What I am going to make, well that is yet to be decided!
@galloway111: Inheritance! I think this might possibly be one of the most exciting book releases of the year! Everyone had to wait so long between Brisingr and this one so hooray for it finally being here. Another book that came out this year was the third book in the Abarat quartet, Abarat: Absolute Midnight. Had to wait 7 years for that one!
A finished manuscript, a literary agent, and a solid 5 figure book deal with one of the big six publishing houses.
Also, new earbuds. Please and thank you, Santa!
@StaceyMay81: Although you do have to buy each book for the Kindle I think some might be free (classics and things like that). Also, some libraries allow you to check out e-books. In fact, it's one of the hottest things for libraries to acquire these days so you will probably see more and more libraries with e-books in their catalogs.
A digital picture frame.
A bracelet.
Boots.
Sweaters/jeans/pj's.
Fuzzy socks.
House robe with slippers.
A faux fireplace.
@soyjoy222: Happy early birthday! I also have a December birthday along with my twin sister and mom...all within a week of Christmas. It's a busy month for us. :)
How do you like having a December b-day?
I'm asking for a TV from my mom. Mine is so old and I lost the remote so I really need a new one. Gift cards to various places like Victoria's Secret, Michael's, iTunes, ya know the basics :)
And from my dad I really need new hunting gear, i.e. clothes and stuff. Also I really want these boots from J.Crew.
I want $$ to put towards my wedding dress.
Milk glasses vases
vintage dishes
vintage silverware
vintage glasses
What I don't want is a lot of clothes. I am losing weight so fast that it would be pointless.
@CMSnails: I used to hate it because mine is the week before Christmas and could never have a party because of the holidays/snow. I have grown to embrace it now! My family always did a good job of keeping my birthday separate from Christmas (ie: no holiday wrapping paper on my bday gifts!).
Happy early Birthday to you, too! Very busy month for you guys. I bet you guys were the best birthday gift your mom ever had!
We have like NO money this year, so all I really want is to be happy. I am losing my job next month, UGH :( Although, my birthday is on Thanksgiving and my mom bought me a "faux" fireplace and I am getting gift cards to Sephora.
MONEY!!
Okay, seriously:
a new peacoat, preferably in charcoal gray, and a new phone.
I would be super happy if I got:
-New hoodies (it is FREEZING at work!)
-Sewing machine
-Cute pajamas
-Giraffe slippers
-a wooden piccolo
I'd like a new cheap-ish digital camera to carry around in my purse. Mine finally broke after 8 years, lol. There are so many options now it's ridiculous!
Some new flannel sheets, a few new pillows for our bed, I'd like FI to cook dinner (start to finish, including dishes), new socks, new work shoes, etc.
I don't really have a list, but I'm now getting hints that there's a tablet of some kind in my future, so I'm REALLY excited about that!
@CorgiTales: He's only 2.5- so I can't imagine why he hasn't been snatched up yet. He's past potty training and the terrible 2s (do corgis get them? I know shelties do) but young enough that I'm sure he has plenty of energy for training and playing. And he has a tail! (though tailess corgi bums are cute as anything too)
My old crappy sewing machine's been broken since February and wasn't worth repairing, so DH is getting me a nicer new one :)
