What’s airfare going to cost you to get to Cancun? Where are you?

ALittleMouse:  We went to Cancun in Feb was very nice trip . We stayed at the hyatt regency it was very nice for the price, amazing beach. We paid about $1600 for the week but that was not all inclusive but we were flying from Canada so a little more expensive than from the sates.

So maybe from your location you could get all inclusive for that price

I would suggest booking through a travel agent. Or at least talking with one. I just recently started looking into all inclusives as well and felt so lost. I spoke to a travel agent and found it really helpful.

Sun palace is defiently my favorite AI resort in Cancun. it is although a 5 star i believe. but it is couples only and me and my husband love that! i will let you know that you really do get what you pay for in terms of AI resorts. When we first traveled to Cancun we went to a 3 star and the food was bad the resort was dirty also not very good entertainment.

Secrets Silversands was AMAZING- I highly recommend it- heaven on earth. We went through Apple Vacations through a travel agent as well- I think that’s a good way to clear up options. I know we paid more than 1600 but every penny was worth it! 🙂

We honeymooned & got married just outside of Cancun on a little bitty 5 mile long island called Isla Mujeres. We flew into Cancun, then took a bus we had reserved to the port (inside the hotel zone in Cancun so about 10-15 minutes) then a super nice ferry ride across to the island (another 15 minutes). We stayed at Privilege Aluxes & it was amazing! Full price, they won’t be in your budget but they have sales constantly! We didn’t want the party atmosphere of cancun and wanted a little more authentic mexico (we stayed in Cancun one night & I felt like I was in vegas!)… Our ittle island was super nice and we felt very safe the entire time. The hotel is right on the beach but also a block away from Ave. Hidalgo, where all the touristy shops/bars/restaurants are…

What we really loved was that you got ocean sunsets & sunrises from the island- with the direction of Cancun you only get ocean sunrises but our island hotel was facing Cancun so you got both plus the awesome lights of the city right across the bay!

to add to pp ^ Isla Mujeres is beautiful we actually went there for a day when we were in Cancun last January. It is a beautiful little island. But since you want to experience downtown and things in Cancun it can acutally eat up a lot of time having to take the ferrys back and forth all the time! I have also been to Riviera Maya which isnt that far from Cancun there’s a lot to do there and you could also do a day trip to Cancun and try to get as much in as possible?

I have stayed at the Fiesta Americana and RIU Cancun all inclusives.  I liked the food at RIU Cancun a bit better and its within walking distance of the downtown area with bars and clubs but the pool shaded over early in the day which I didn’t like.  You will have lots of options in Cancun to get out of the restort and do little tours, see ruins, go snorkeling, etc.

I second Sun Palace in Cancun. It was an absolueltey gorgeous adults-only AI. Each room has an ocean view and a huge jacuzzi tub in the room. We had a great time!

Oh and I dont think you’ll get something that cheap in punta cana, but we stayed at the majestic colonial in April and it was nice! 🙂 I preferred the water in Playa Del Carmen though, it was reallly choppy in Punta Cana

I recommend Sun Palace and PA in Isla Mujeres. I’ve stayed at both and both are nice.
