We are having a very small destination wedding at Sandals Royal Caribbean 🙂 After seeing their website and reading the fantastic reviews on trip advisor, it was a no brainer for us!!!!! We opted for a nicer room than the basic (three or four steps above) and we are staying 8 nights- it’s costing us exactly $3793. This is during the peak season, too. (Doesn’t include airfare.)

If you want to go with Sandals, the key is to pay the deposit ahead of time- it’s $400, so no biggie- and then watch the prices on their website. They fluctuate a lot, but they always honor the advertised price. So, we booked when it was $500 cheaper, paid only the deposit, and they reduced our price by the applicable amount! You can do this as many times as you want, if you keep seeing better prices, and they will do it for you. The only thing is, you don’t want to pay in full right away, because they won’t refund the money if you’ve already paid.

We went to Le Blanc Spa and Resort in Cacun for our honeymoon. SO INCREDIBLE. The food is amazing, service is top notch, drinks are strong! I would stay away from Sandals resorts…we’ve been to two and food and drinks have been terrible at both. We’re already planning our next visit to Le Blanc…it was just AWESOME!!

@mepayne:

@princessbelle:  +1 couples swept away is awesome. They have a plan on their website called love away plan. You pay $100 to reserve your room, and then $100 each month after that until the balance is due 45 days before the trip. They will also adjust your price if you show you found iek cheaper elsewhere.

I stayed at the Valentin Imperial in Riviera Maya and both of us said it was the best vacation either of us have EVER been on. The resort itself was beautiful, the beach was great (but there were rocky areas), the pools were amazing, the service was the BEST, the food was the best, the drinks just kept on coming (and we’re not even drinkers), and they had some free activities (hobie, kayaking on the beach, snorkeling, beach volleyball, nightly entertainment). I know most of the all inclusives offer the same thing, but honestly – 3 years later and we STILL think about that vacation. It’s an experience we hope to recreate ofr us and all our guests when we get married next year in Punta Cana, but if we could go back there, we would (we couldn’t do it there b/c it’s adults only).
