(Closed) All Microphones Equal? Which to buy?

Hi, I work in radio… I would say don’t buy the cheapest, but on the other side of that don’t buy something so expensive. Don’t go spending 75 bucks, because you don’t require that much processing, but you still want something reliable… find somethin in between and you should be good to go

@baletrina:  My husband, and AV Tech, in a band, and microphone afficianado recommends the SM58.  You will need an XLR (mic) cable to go with it if you don’t have one.  Also, the resale value of them is pretty good.  They are great mics. He asked if you are connecting the mics to a mixer or does the speaker system have more than one port?  Mics, mixers, and such can be rented from AV companies as well.

all mics are NOT created equal, if you are going to have an outside ceremony you are going to need soemthing that will not make that gross crakely sound in the wind. Sometimes this can be solved with a foam cover, but they do make some that are approved and ready for out door use
