I am engaged! Sooooo, I guess I should come forward with the story. I’ll probably get some sort of “hate”, but I would like to mention that over here, there isn’t so much of a traditional proposal.
In an earlier post, I mentioned that my SO (now FI!) got to know each other in Scotland and that we had booked a holiday to Scotland at the end of June. I was actually hoping, my (then) boyfriend was maybe thinking about a proposal since it’s been 4 years since we met and we were going “back to the roots”. So I got his best friend (a girl) involved beforehand to aks, whethter or not he had some plans or not. Well, turns out, he didn’t think about it. So I thought, well, if he isn’t going to propose then I will do. So I bought him a watch before we were flying over (his old one is already pretty scruffy looking), and just hoped for “the right moment”! And that day was actually now a week and a half ago. We were looking for somewhere to eat in a very small town and found a sign directing in to a very narrow, not very nice street. We actually debated whether to go there or not, but then went for it. While we were looking for the menu, there was just a sing saying you would have needed to book in advance since it was always very busy and they only had 30 seats available. Well, we thought of turning away when the door opened and the waitress asked if she could help us. Turns out it was a very quiet night, so we got a table for an hour later. We rushed back to the B&B, I got changed and put on smome make up, grabbed the watch and away we were. At that point, I wasn’t sure I would propose that night, but somehow our conversation throughout the night led very well into me asking him to marry me (the 2 glasses of wine definitely helped ). Knowing him, I told him that he could take his time to answer – but no longer than a couple of weeks! That night he was very happy and cuddly, but only the next night he gave me a big yes! He said, he was so glad I asked him, cause he actually thought, he would “have to do a weird dance while proposing” referring to proposals he saw on youtube.
Sooo I am ready to start planning (not that I didn’t have it all planned in my head beforehand). Oh so I don’t have ring porn just now to show – we will go ring shopping in August.
