@NovaGrey:  ….not silver…the nickel the silver is plated on probably…some people are just a little more acidy than others, I see women get it when they’re stressed a lot.

@NovaGrey:  One of my co-workers literally exploded with a nickel allergy a couple of months ago….it was epic….a dermatologist can give you some steroid cream and it’ll clear up..no biggie!

i had just the same but it was my engament that was silver 🙁

some people said was nickel some stress and some said it was sweat were my ring was stopping the finger from breathing as such. I have had to stop wear my ring but for while i tried to wear it again and again. i found that rubbing alou vera on the rash worked well to heal it quickly, i also washing the ring with a clean toothbrush and aintbac soap helped.

Hope your hand is better soon but dont rush putting a ring back on it may cause it to happen again, i have to wear my ring on a chain around my neck now 🙁

It must have worn through the sterling silver layer to some nickel. That happened to me with a watch I had…it was perfectly fine and then I got a rash on my wrist the shape of the back of the watch. I only can wear sterling silver or gold. Nothing with nickel mixed into it. This can also happen if it is a thick band and is too tight and not breathable. Good luck :).

Berricle makes nickle free rings you could use as a stand in (I really like their stuff– great quality).  In college, I wore a bunch of silver rings every day.  Then out of the blue I started having a nickle reaction to them– including one ring I’d worn for years.  Now I always choose nickle free.
