I don’t know the odds, but it seems unlikely to me.  Unless there is perhaps some vairation of the food that makes you sick? Like some people cannot have raw apples, but cooked are fine.

What kind of reaction are you getting to food?

That sucks.  Perhaps it was human error on the part of the tester?  Glad you found out though so you don’t have any reactions in the future!

I have class 4 food allergies they dont show up on allergy tests since they are t-cell mediated not histamine. The only one that might now is my allergy to Kiwi since it actually wants to kill me. I react to latex as well violently so they refused to test me when a pair of gloves left red finger marks on my skin, and then pricking me with a toothpic and the glove caused a blister 15 minutes later, the doctor decided an under tha skin test wasnt a smart move and issued an epi pen since I’ve had my lungs close twice near balloons. My soy, beef and a few other issues never show though but the bowel issues, and eczema on my skin beg to differ. The allergist knew immediatly what it was a class 4 reaction. I also have class 4 allergies to dogs my sinuses just dry out and bleed around them after a few hours.

@AB Bride:  I think anaphlaxis is type 1. Class 4 are autoimmune hypersensitivities. Celiac disease is a class 4 allergy/hypersensitivity. The t-cell destroys the lining of the intestinal wall.I have this :/.

When I’m around dogs it takes abotu 1-4 hours but I react. My sinuses actually dry out and bleed. There are 1-2 trees that bloom in the spring that do this to me too. I now keep saline nasal spray on me and a netti pot at the house :/. These are class 4 allergy as well. My daughter has an allergist who specializes in class 4 hypersensitivities and he confirmed that I have class 4 inhalation allergies which is very rare. He mostly deals with kids that have eosinophillia like my daughter, she has class 4 to trees and grasses her throat swells and it causes acid reflux. When my tests were done about 15 years prior to when I took my daughter to him I actually reacted to the skin pricks about 8 hours later and had what looked like blistering bug bites. My old allergist didnt know how to interpret the delayed reaction when we called back because he didnt know what was where :/. My daughter’s reactions were under the skin you couldnt see them you had to actually touch them and it took an hour to show.

It was actually her doctor that looked at my skin on my legs while we were waiting on her results and ordered a patch test done for contact dermatitis on me. I’d had horrible dry skin that would literally crack blister and peal off it was aweful. I thought bad razor burn and tried many lotions etc that made it worse. They took one look and said two options infection or contact dermatitis. Contact dermatitis is a class 4 allergy. I reacted to 2/3s of the patch they gave me some of my reactions were very violent my skin blistered off :/. I have this allergy to many many chemicals. Soaps, laundry detergents etc have to be all natural and free of many things like lavendar, parabens, formaldehyde releasers or my skin goes insane. Since that test the issues are 1000 times better. I still get acne but I dont have the horrible dry blistering issues anymore which makes me happy because it was really uncomfortable and unsightly at times.
