I just recently tried on the Allure 8853 in a bridal salon. I am a street size 16 and the sample was only a 12. I squeezed into it and loooved it from the front, but couldn’t really tell what the back looks like or how it would look tighter in the front when fully fasened in the back.
I was wondering if there are any ladies out there a similar size as me that wore this dress or a similar style?
Here is a picture of what it looks like

What about La Sposa Mecenas??? Anyone???

I’m a plus-size and while I love the look of Allure dresses, I opted to go with Maggie Sottero. They both have AMAZING lace gowns…but Allure dresses have zipper backs, which are much less forgiving, and may end up costing much more in alterations to get a gorgeous fit (either way–if you gain or lose weight prior to the big day). Maggie Sottero gowns have gorgeous corset backs, and they give us curvy girls an AMAZING figure. Also, Maggie Sottero’s lace gowns have beading, which makes the dresses sparkle as you move in the light. They are really soft and pretty. Seriously, look into Maggie dresses. Every one of them I tried on looked good…but one looked like it was made just for me.
Given your style, I think you’d like Maggie Sottero’s Bernadette:
Check out the amazing back!
And…on real brides:
The last one is pre-alterations, I believe.
I don’t have any photos of me in my dress, but this is the Maggie gown I went with (I’m keeping the detachable cap sleeves):
Didn’t try La Sposa gowns…so I can’t speak to those.

@CelticBeachBride: I am pretty sure I actually tried on that Maggie dress you went with! It looked great except the bridal consultant couldn’t quite get the straps on the dress to show me, so I couldn’t get the full effect. I think that’s why I was kind of meh. I really don’t want a strapless dress so it was kind of ruled out. Maybe I will give that one another shot with the sleeves, it is very pretty! Thank you so much for the advice!
