I would almost always vote to get the real one. You never know what you're getting with a knock-off.
I also see major differences. It's also hard to really tell what the quality is like in the pictures. Plus, just because it looks a certain way in what they are advertising doesn't mean it will be the same if they make one for you.
I would be leery about ordering a knockoff. Have you tried getting a price quote fron Netbride.com? They sell actual designer dresses, not knockoffs, and you may be able to save a lot of money than if you got it from the store.
Get the real one, support the designer. That way you know what you are going to get.
Tulip, I found a site where the dress was half the price as the store. Netbride was more expensive.
Thanks! I'm not crazy, lol
I would get the real one. The knock off is no where near as pretty as the real one.
If the real one is in your budget then go for it, but if it's not or it's a strech (or money you'd like to have to run-over in another area) consider the knock-off. I personally have no problem with knock-offs. I don't feel wedding dress quality is as much an issue because the dress only needs to holdup for a (not even full) day. Not too many people are coming up inspecting seems and beading detail. But alas that's just IMO. Yes, I see the differences, but it's not a uniform that you need to match to someone else. You may end up liking the design of the cheaper one better.
Go with the Allure, the knock-off doesn't look the same at all!
If it's in your budget to get the real one, then definitely do so. But if it's not, the only differences I see in the two dresses is that the knockoff is done is gold stitching and has less beading in the bodice. I would think that you could ask the company to do ivory/cream stiching instead of gold and that you could ask them to add beading to the bodice for sparkle.
I agree, if you can swing it, go with the Allure - I see a lot of differences with the knock-off.
In my opinion the real one blows the knock off out of the water. It's gorgeous! So beautiful honey!
get the real one, the differences are huge. The gold stitching is not even close to as beautiful as the real dresses's beading. Plus you tend to sacrifice quality with knockoffs. Definitely support the designer here. Its a gorgeous dress
I see a lot of differences in the knock off. I wouldn't even known that it was supposed to be a knock off of the allure dress if I was told that it was.
You look so beautiful in the Allure dress so I vote for you to keep it.
I vote for the real one! LIke other people mentioned there are very noticable differences. If you can afford the real one i would stick with that!
i agree to definitely buy the real thing. check netbride, pearl's place, and rkbridal. all of those are really reputable places to find a dress.
good luck.
If the other online suggestions (netbride, pearl's place) don't pan out I would suggest bestbridalprices.com - they (like netbride) are an online bridal shop that has a brick and mortar store in the US and some pretty nice customer service (so far). I agree with the many other posters that I see differences in the knockoff - but that you could possibly go with an online source for the same "real" dress (and through the "real designer") for a better price. . .That is what I have done but I haven't received my ceremony dress yet so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
The quality of the knock off you cannot be certain of. I learned the hard way with purchasing a knock off of a designer gown from Bloomingdales for my birthday party. When I got the dress, I almost died. I paid $150 for a dress that I AM NOT wearing and can only return for exchange. In the end, I purchased the designer gown from Bloomingdales. The only good thing is that the designer gown was on sale and I received an additional 30% off because I ordered it online for a total savings of almost 60% on the regular price. Moral of the story, get the Allure. Knock offs are called Knock offs for a reason.
As long as you don't show the side by side, no one would know! The biggest difference is by far the beading and sparkle, but I like the more vintage look of the knockoff. What is the actualy price difference. If you're on a tight budget, save your money......they are both beautiful!
@PrncssDva: I actually wore the SAME dress for my wedding - the real Allure dress.
Granted it was a little pricey, but it was absolutely gorgeous and I can't imagine going with anything else. The detailing is so intricate and well done - I don't think the pictures of the knock off come close to the Allure dress. Especially the beadwork and the train.
That is just my honest opinion though, as a former bride who bought the Allure dress.
You know, I'm usually fine with knock offs, but this one just looks poorly made. Try to get the Allure if you can swing it.
Thanks everyone! I will stick with my gut! When I told FI the story he said that I didn't even sound excited about the knockoff and to just get the one that I love anyway.
Pinot, are you kidding?! I love love love that dress! When I saw it I actually gasped..then the lady turned the lights off for me (our wedding is in the evening with lots of candlelight)...I almost passed out! I MUST HAVE BLING! Do you have pics of you in the dress?
I know this is an old topic but I really love that original dress. I think that companys version of the knock of sucks. I think anyone that likes a beaded gown should research companies that do good work.
Just wondering what the site was where you found the dress for half price of in store, I am in love with an Allure dress but it is really expensive and I am trying to find a better deal but so far everything has been within $10 of the store price. Thank you
Btw you look gorgeous in the originial

I have posted my dress on here before, but now I need help. I found the true Allure dress online for half the price as the store. Just yesterday I found the knockoff version on a different site for 1/5 the price of the first online store. I would like to know if this low price is worth it and if you think that they look the same. I see major differences, but my friend says that I am crazy. What do you think? Should I get the real one or the cheaper one? Please help!
