So im sitting here and been thinking. Ive been going thru a happy then a “whatever for now” emotion. Ive been engaged to the most wonderful man for almost 4 months now but still have to next sept 2011 till the wedding. We have gotten the main things done (hall booked, church booked, dj, etc) but the other things I got to do its just too early. I have my daughters dresses to order but cant do that til next year or they will out grow them. The date just seems so far away and at times thinking about what i need to do but cant yet is getting old. I guess Im just impatient but I wish we would of chosen a closer wedding date. 🙂

I completely understand, I got engaged Dec of 2009 and wanted a May wedding. But there was no way I would have time to book everything by May 2010 and I didn’t want to wait until 2011 to get married, so I compromised on my date. We are now getting married in Dec of this year and I couldn’t be happier. Everything else fell into place. But try not to be impatient, your wedding date will be here before you know it. Time really does fly by.

I feel you. I always dreamt of a fall wedding but there was no way in hell I’d be able to wait over a year to get married (engaged in late August.) Now we’re getting married April 3. Least favorite season to get married but I just wanna “get er dun!”

I feel your pain. We are having a 22 month engagement and we’re almost 2/3 done, I am getting very antsy!!!
Are you planning to DIY anything? I have started all of my projects to try to cut down on stress as the date gets closer!

(but I’m trying to will myself to enjoy it while it lasts because I know that once it gets here it will be over before I know it.)

I know the solution… you need to tackle some DIY projects! Our engagement is 18 months long and I have been busy – and will continue to have wedding projects to do because of the DIY items that I’ve picked out. It’s a blast to put your personal touch on wedding elements such as invitations, centerpieces, etc… and you can do decor items WAY in advance! 🙂

@SuperShopper: I second the DIY projects! You need to have a good idea of what you want, but it’s awesome to get things done… I have to wait until March 12
