I know what you mean.  We got engaged last year and at first I was like “2 year engagement?  I’m going to have sooo much time to plan things.  Now I’m like “Ohhhh crap, we’re almost 13 months out and I need to get things in gear”.  It’s starting to come together for me – we have the venue (my house), an awesome photographer, a lot of the decor, and as of yesterday, our officiant.  We just have to keep our eyes on the prize 🙂

@NurseMandie:  My fiance and I have been engaged since Christmas Eve 2012, not TOO long.. but I always told myself I would never have a long engagement. We’re getting married september 12, 2014 and we will have our wedding in our hometown but we currently live six hours away. For a while I told myself I was ok to breathe because I have alot of time but lately I’ve been freaking out! All my bridesmaids live in Michigan so I’m trying to arrange time for them plus the vendors.

We got lucky and most of our vendors (photographer, baker, DJ, and flowers) are family friends! They all know our wedding date so we really don’t need to make any huge moves until after the holidays. Plus I’ve noticed alot of family saying “its too early to worry” or “you have time”. I’m trying to ignore it because it’s OUR wedding and I want to do it on OUR timeline! Everything will go by so fast!!

One year, one month 25 days and 18 hrs till 9 am September 27th 2014….and yes, I’m counting….or rather I have a count down timer on my computer.

We have everything decided, Chruch, priest, musicians (sibilings), venue for lunch (not doing a full reception) but haven’t let anyone know yet as we are engaged but haven’t done the traditional proposal, which is very imporant for his and my parents…..it will be the only real traditional thing we do, so we want that atleast to appeas them.

@NurseMandie:  Me too!!!  I have all of these DIY projects that I thought I could take my time doing, and things are getting REAL all of a sudden!  I was diligently working on things during the weekends and evenings (I work full time), but there’s so much going on this summer!  I haven’t really worked on anything besides getting to the gym more.

I really need to prioritize designing the Save the Dates & invitations, just so it’s done.

So far, we have our venue/catering, photographer, and DJ booked.  I have my dress.  We still need an officiant.  I have a TON of little projects to do – eep!

We all just need to remember to breathe 😉

@NurseMandie:

@ANGELaaimt:  Me too! We can afford what we’re planning but the question at the end of the day is whether we want to spend our money in that way.

We’ve paid a deposit for our venue, photographer, and registrar and sent out our save the dates as we’re excited and all of our guests are travelling to be with us on our wedding day!

We need to pay the deposit for the caterers this week and make a decision as to whether we want to hire chair covers (£330 extra) and opt for a band instead of a DJ (£375 extra). I feel like we should just save ourselves the £705 ($1082) but, on the other hand, these splurges might make the day more special and fun.

Also need to decide whether to opt for fresh flowers or dried flowers — waiting on a quote from a local florist and a sample from the dried flower company before we can make a decision. Might end up mixing and matching (fresh bouquet, corsage, buttonholes, etc. but dried flower arrangements) to cut costs.

Been thinking about cake toppers, stationery, and ceremony music today to pass the time! I like this cake topper at the moment: http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/misscake/product/personalised-wedding-cake-topper-mr-mrs

I’m going dress shopping in October, which I’m really excited about!

Let’s all try not to freak out and just enjoy the experience!

I’ve been past the year mark for a few days now and it was exciting and stressful all at the same time. Like I can’t believe I have less then a year to go now. AHH 😀

Everyone keeps telling me that the year is going to go by so fast but then I don’t want it to go by to fast or I wont have enough time to get everything done.

@NurseMandie:  we’re talking about a September 2014 wedding and we’re still not engaged if it makes you feel any better 🙂

I am hoping it’s going to happen soon because I definitely don’t want to wait until 2015!
