I’m not pregnant and nowhere near getting pregnant, but in 2009 I was blessed with becoming an auntie to my sister’s identical twin daughters, and I can tell you that they are a completely joy and I can’t imagine my life without them. Yes, it may be rough during the first few months, but trust me – it will be completely worth it! Congratulations, no matter what, and best wishes for a healthy pregnancy!

Whoa, surprising news.  How many weeks were you for your other two ultrasounds?

How long before you get your next one?

You’ll be a great mom to one or two babies but yikes that’s some anticipation until the next ultrasound, though it seems crazy that they’d miss a twin two different times.

@firsttimemom: Is it wrong for me to be excited that you might be having twins??? (because I am)

I know a girl who is a twin and was a surprise to her parents in the delivery room. She was behind her twin brother through the entire pregnancy and their heart beats matched up, so they never realized there was a second baby. Crazy

twins are usually first detected by blood draws with numbers being WAY high for your EDD. Did you have any done?

My moms friend had twins… found at at week 22 because she was ‘bigger than expected to be at that time’ one boy one girl. Good luck =D

@firsttimemom:  Yup, they found our twins at the 12 week nuchal scan.  The tech was certainly not looking for them but it was clear as day the second she put the wand on my stomach – I saw them both before she even said anything.  So I’d be surprised if they missed an extra baby at two different ultrasounds.  But!  It certainly wouldn’t be the first time something like that happened!

Did your midwife look for more than one heartbeat?  My doctor could find two heartbeats even with just the doppler.

I can imagine that you are pretty much freaking out right now!  PLease PM me if you want more info or want to chat.

And can I selfishly say that it would be SO FUN to have another twin mama on the boards?!?!  Laughing
