It’s been a long journey. After going back and forth with various jewelers, I finally decided to have one custom made.
After the last of her friends got married, she started a running joke with me that I owed her a carat for every year that we’ve been dating. She know there’s no way I could afford a ~4 ct stone, but hopefully, I get the last laugh. As of this now, we’ve been dating for 3.7 years. Her center diamond is 1.7 ct and the setting is 2 ct TW, making it 3.7 ct TW. 🙂
I’m asking her tonight. Wish me luck and thanks for the advice!

Congratulations! I’m sure she’ll feel the last 3.7 years have been worth the wait after tonight is over. It’s so loving and thoughtul, not to mention darn adorable, how you matched the ct. tw. to the actual number of years you’ve been together. Thank goodness that number is nowhere near 10 or anything. 😉
Best wishes for a beautiful life together.
