Apprently, I lost my birth certificate AND my old passport. Lovely! I guess whenever I was thinking about going on a cruise a couple years back, I had put it in my truck at the time, and since then I have sold my truck…got a car, and moved into a new apartment.
So, somewhere in the transition it’s gotten lost. I just emailed a check & my information to the hospital where I was born, today, and they told me it was a 2 week turnaround. So, I’ll be getting it in a month at the LATEST.
I CAN use the passport card. I’ve checked around, I just won’t be able to fly using it. So hopefully that’ll turn out being cheaper. Anyone have any advice? I’ll basically be able to START getting my passport a month from now Not cool!

You can rush it in 3 weeks I think. You’ll get it in the nick of time. Maybe the hospital will get it to you faster?
If you can’t fly, will you be able to go on a honeymooN?

When you actually have to apply for your passport I’d suggest checking in with your local authority (or whomever deals with passport applications in the USA). Most places will issue an emergency passport that’s only valid for a few months so that you can take a planned trip, etc.
That sucks about loosing all that info though! I know I’d be tearing my hair out. Just relax, it’ll all be fine in the end.

@Ejs: I’m going on a cruise, so I won’t have to worry about flying. I should’ve mentioned that in the post.

My parents just applied for their passports and received them in 3 weeks without a rush on them. They were renewals, I don’t know if that matters?? Anyway, so, with a rush you should definitely get them on time!
Good luck! 🙂

My husband waited until the very last minute to get his passport, and he couldn’t find his birth certificate either! So we rushed the BC, and rushed the passport, and got it within 3 weeks. About a week before our wedding, thank goodness! I think you should hopefully be ok. Just have all of your paperwork ready to go the minute you get your birth certificate!

That raises another question, thanks @future…how soon did everyone get their passport without putting a rush on them?
