last night I received this text message from my aunt:
“So abbey wants to sing Aretha’s Respect for your reception… what do you think? She also thought about a romantic song but she may never get off the stage if we start, you know?”
me: panic. this is also the little cousin who jumped on stage at my high school graduation party. responses other than “no” rattled through my brain. I don’t think we’ll have the sound system for that. I don’t think the DJ has any karaoke tracks. I don’t want any live singing at the reception. I didn’t respond because I panicked.
flash forward to this morning, I walked in to my mom’s room and was like “uh… Aunt said this…” and she immediately told me it was a joke.
DUH! OF COURSE it was a joke! Anyone else feel so wrapped up in all of the details they panic instead of laugh?
new years resolution: dang girl, lighten up!

Awesome. When I started reading your post, I was thinking it was something that was going to be forced on you by family and I was getting ready to console you or suggest alternatives like a performance at the RD – but it’s all good. I love that song by the way. Happy Friday!

@shelbystar44: lol she actually is a really good singer, she’s been on the stage a lot. when she was 12 she thought about trying out for american idol but then decided she “wasn’t ready to be famous.”

HA! I got a good one for ya!
FI and I are getting STD’s printed at local minuteman press. I was kinda hesitant to order because due to conflicting business/work hours I could not see a finished product before I gave them the go ahead to print them.
I called and emailed the owner and then when talking to her on the phone expressing concern she tells me “Sweetie you need to relax…. I have two kinds of stock paper, gloss and matte, you don’t want gloss, so you are getting matte. They are going to look great- we do this everyday”….. So I laughed, and took a breath and told her to proceed with the printing. I am picking them up today – fingers crossed!
