I heard some statistic that a pretty surprising percentage of couples don’t consummate on their wedding night. I mean… I can actually kind of understand, it’s a long day, with not a lot of sleep the night before, and once the adrenaline goes away, you could just be exhausted. plus the added factor of alcohol in most cases…. so i’m curious, for the married ladies out there… did you??
(I’m keeping this poll to just “did you” instead of adding in “do you plan to” because I know we all go in with the BEST intentions, but things don’t always happen the way we plan. haha)

Yes, we did. We planned a head and brought energy drinks to the hotel haha. We had both heard about that percentage too and really didn’t want to add to it.

I didnt vote because I am not married yet but my FI and I tease that right after the ceremony, we are going to go up to the bridal sweet (has a locked door) and “consummate” a quickie before the reception haha.

We were exhausted and in pain and could barely move. And we still made it happen haha.

We did.. Twice actually. We were EXHAUSTED (left the reception around ten), but did it on the limo ride to the hotel then fell asleep (2 hr drive) then again once we got to our hotel. We had to get up at 6 the next morning to catch our flight but it was worth it! As tired as we were I’m so glad we did.

We were really, really tired but Mr. D made it a priority. 😉

A couple of times:)
We closed a bar at our “after party” and hung out with friends for alittle bit after, but there was no way it wasn’t going to happen.

It was the consummation Olympics!

We did… or we consider that we did.
Because for our day, we chose to do everything “backwards” to tradition. We had a first look and took our portraits & bridal party photos in the two hours before our wedding, we ended up greeting all our guests on the way in (like an informal receiving line), and we signed the register before the ceremony.
And… we consummated our marriage the morning of. We wanted to be able to enjoy every inch of our party with no added stress. We had a wonderful, intimate morning; and then a wonderful wedding and didn’t get home until 3:30 am.. exhausted, giddy, aching feet, etc. My new husband helped me out of my dress, we touched and kissed, but were both happy to curl up in each others’ arms.

We were dead tired, but it was worth it.

Honestly, we did not think we would… We are party poopers and usually go to bed super early, so we just assumed we’d be too tired. We got back to the room around 3 AM and were dead tired, but looked at each other and were like, what the hell… It’s our WEDDING night! When will we get one of these again?! 😉

How horrible is it to admit that I don’t honestly remember… I wonder if DH has any idea.

We got back to the room at around 2am, took a shower, and got down to business 🙂

Yup. We were waiters, so I’m not sure anything would have stopped us!
