Alteration Advise

I need some help on this one. I have a great deal on a great wedding dress offered to me but I am scared to accept because it will need to be taken in from a size 10 to a size 2. Its is a very simple dress so no beading, lace ect just fabric BUT I'm scared this could be as much as the dress itself.

I'm not a professional taylor by any standards so this is where you come in. Help and advise please

I'm no professional either, but that sounds like a LOT of work.  To me, it seems like reducing a dress that much would almost be the equivalent of designing a custom dress.  I may be completely wrong, and hopefully someone with professional experience in this area can clear this up for you.

However, if you really love this dress or it holds sentimental value, it may very well be worth the expense.

Is the dress a size 10 and you are a street size 2? If that is the case, and you haven't tried the dress on yet, you may be surprised. I am an everyday size of 4 and my gown began as a size 10. They run really small.

I agree w/ bree72. I'm street size 2 but I'm a size 12 in Anne Barge.
