are you able to take it back to them and let them know it doesnt fit right.. i would definitely advice trying it on while you are at the store so they can see for themselves that it doesnt fit
thanks Bells~ I hope the bridal shop will be able to fix it.. i'm getting worried and they're not open til tomorrow.. can't wait to find out
i just got a call from the bridal shop - they said an easy fix is to wear the dress for hours and stretch it out. anyone have any experience with "stretching" the dress?
thanks
I don't have experience with "stretching" a dress. If it were me, I would take it back and make them fix it correctly. They should have had you try the dress on before you took it. By telling you to stretch it out, they are just being lazy. If I were you, I would be very upset and I would take it back to them and make them fix it.
i've never heard of stretching either.. why would u want to wear ur wedding gowns for hours anyway?
This whole "wearing it to stretch it out" thing is crap. If it doesn't fit, it doesn't fit. Yes, your body heat will warm it up some and the fabric will loosen, but two centimeters is a lot. You've paid this store to fit your dress correctly and they owe it to you to do that.
If there is a seam allowance left in the dress they should be able to give you a bit more room, especially if they can loosen the allowance in all the seams around your torso.
i've attached a pix of how it looks - not sure if any of you had experience with dress 'too tight'
i'm meeting with another alternation lady tonight after work to see what she can do
thanks for all your suggestions girls!
i took my dress to another local alternation expert and she assured me that my dress is actually fine! i'm glad she's so honest and saved me another alteration fee. it's just that my sister didn't know how to hook the back and push down my skin! so now it is perfect
learn from this lesson girls - always push DOWN your meat/skin on the back. that will solve the problem.

i just got my wedding dress altered but didn't try it on at the store
i realized it's about 2 centimeters just a tad too tight to zip
i can zip it up, but it creates rolls of meat on my back - i'm not a big girl so even if i lose weight my back skin won't lose weight for the dress to fit.
any bee have any experience getting their dress altered too small on the bust area but able to fix it?
thank you!
