I bought my dress off someone and the dress fit like a glove. The only thing I had to have done was to cut off those hanger strap thingies, cost me a whopping $10.

I was originally going to pay $80, but as some alterations were made we discovered other parts needed to be changed to fit right in the bust area so it came to about $100.

The store suggested a lady to do the alterations since they didn’t do them in house.  Turns out she lived in the neighborhood across the street from mine and did alterations out of her home while working on a masters degree.  She was wonderful!

My alterations cost $265. Kind of spendy but a great deal for how much I had done to it. Taken in from a size 6 to a 2, shortened the train, hemmed, sewn in bra cups, added a one shoulder rhinestone strap and a bustle. My alterations actually cost more than my dress, lol. I scored an amazing deal on a discontinued Maggie sample. I would think standard alterations would cost a lot less but it also depends on the region you’re in. I also took mine to a seamstress who works out of her home instead of a bridal shop so I’m sure that helped too.
