Thanks for the alert! I hope Laguna brides will make note. You're lucky you have such a dedicated mom to help out. Did you alert the BBB?
If anyone else needs a seamstress, I have a great seamstress here in San Diego. I'm not sure if you want to make the travel down here, but she used to do alterations for Gerald Ford's wife and has been a seamstress for at least 30+ years.
Oh my goodness MOB! I am so sorry for you! I would file a complaint with the BBB and and keep trying to get your money back! I would take the guy to small claims court! I hope your wedding day was beautiful otherwise!

Not only did I get ripped off but my dress was ruined, lace missing and cut off ramdomly, beads removed and lost. All we went in for was to have my dress shortened and the sides taken in. This guy (Daniels Custom Tailoring, Laguna Hills, CA) He convinced me that my dress needed boning and alot of needless extras all to the tune of $435.00 The only thing he did was hem the dress and do a gathering stitch accros the bodice instead of taking in the sides. He did do the boning but I ended up not using it because of the sloppy job that was done. After picking up my dress 3 weeks before my wedding I had to take it to another tailor to be repaired $89.00 and then have it cleaned $100.00. Of course Daniels has refused to refund one dime for the mess that he made of my dress. My mother spent every waking hour repairing the lace and beading up until 2:30 am the day of my wedding. So I wish I had only been financially ripped off, because the stress of not knowing if my dress was going to be finished and ready for my wedding was worse than any amount of money.
