So I bought my dress from another bride but its 2 sizes too big so i plan on getting alterations done to it. I found an authorized Maggie Sottero retailer that does alterations on wedding dresses that are purchased outside (not from there store) but i remember calling that particular store (was the only one closest to me that carried the Maggie Sottero dresses) about the SaBelle and they didnt have it in stock and was told that i would need to place an order for it. My fear is if i do decide to use them for my alterations that they might use my dress for other brides looking for the SaBelle that they dont have in stock but mine will be there for alterations. Now im thinking should i get alterations done there or take it somewhere else? I feel that if i take it there to get it done that it would get done better because they are the authorized dealer and they do alterations on Maggie Sottero’s line.. What should I do?

So you dress will be at the store for alterations – they may have to take it apart because it’s 2 sizes too big, there will be pins all over it, etc. I don’t see how they could “use your dress” for other brides looking for that dress.
Honestly I wouldn’t be too concerned about using an “authorized dealer.” My dress will be altered by a local seamstress who has worked on wedding dresses in her home for 20 years. If you are really concerned about taking your dress there, there are certainly other options available. A good wedding seamstress will be able to work on any line; it shouldn’t matter who the designer is. The basic construction of dresses are the same.

well im afraid that they will take there time into doing alterations and there fore maybe use my dress for brides who want to order it or maybe show it to them? I was thinking about taking it to the authorized dealer since they work with maggie sottero dresses and im afraid that a wedding seamstress might not do as a good job as the authorized dealer place would..
