How long does alterations usually take? My wedding is in May but I am taking my Bridal photos in March, Im not sure if I will have my dress in in time. I am a size 2 and they ordered me a 8 so they have a good bit to fix because my dress is HUGE!!!

i didnt take mine to the bridal shop…i took it to an alterations lady that i highly trust… i dropped it off black friday (November 26th) and they fitted it to my body. I went back (december 6th) and they did the hem, once again i went back (December 15th) for the Bustle and i get ot pick it up today! so roughly a month for me.

where are you getting your alterations done? yvonne lafleur and town & country both said they could do my alterations at whatever time table i need, so even if i can’t come in until the week of my wedding they’ll do them no problem.
pearl’s place, on the other hand, has a LOUSY alterations department, so i wouldn’t count on them to do it quickly!

I took mine to an alterations lady that has a very good reputation. I brought it 3 months before my wedding but she probably could have gotten it done quicker. I would just find a respectable tailor and ask how fast they could have it done!

I bought my dress from Bustles and Bows. They said the lady only comes in on Wednesday afternoons they said she also works out of Kenner.

- Wedding: August 2010 - Ocean View Villas/Jasmine Seafood Restaurant
I had my dressed altered with my regular alterations person and it was a ton cheaper than the bridal shop. I had 3 fittings and it was completed in 3 weeks. She had a lot of hand beading to do as well. I think I would have liked a 4th fitting if I had the time because i ended up losing a bit more weight and kind of wanted the bodice a bit tighter. So consider weight loss as well.
