@Love2014:  The first time I got married, (ten years ago) I just used the seamstress at where I bought my dress, which was Fairy Tales in Colchester, CT.  I had a French bustle done, which looked really nice.  And the usual hemming (I’m short) and she nicely stuffed the bust (you couldn’t even tell it wasn’t me and it was strapless LOL).  I think they might have moved to Glastonbury, CT, but I will be taking my dress for my 2nd wedding there to see what can be done to that.  There is a nice lace detail at the bottom of the dress which I don’t want to lose.  But I have time since I’m not planning to get married until Oct 2015.

@Love2014:  Try Brides to Be in Glastonbury. There is a seamstress based there who is very reasonable (I think her name is Barbara?). If you call the store they can give you her number (she is based at the store but schedules her own appointments).

I had my alterations done in Darien, CT at my bridal salon, but the seamstress was from New Milford. She was fabulous, I highly recommend her:

Bridget Kellog:

I’m sure you could arrange to meet with her somewhere closer to you?
