I have a dilemma: I want the Essense D1118, can’t pay full price so I’m buying it pre-owned for less. The ONLY two I can find, one girl with a dress already my size isn’t responding to my emails, and the other one is a size 10 label that was already taken down from a size 12. I need a label size 6! Been talking to her to see if she thinks it is possible to take it in to that size. She doesn’t know. Every seamstress I call says I have to bring it in for a consultation first, which defeats my purpose of making sure it will work BEFORE I plunk down hundreds of dollars on it. Anyone have exprience with Essense 2x alterations?

Did you actually try on the dress and see that you need label size 6? I didn’t get the exact same dress but had an Essence, and I ask that because I was a street size 4 but got the dress in a 10 based on their measurements – I needed alterations but they weren’t difficult.

Depends on the type of dress I’d guess. I had an EoA corset back dolce satin dress with rouching. I ordered a size 4, I am a street size 00 (5’4, 95lbs) and it actually didn’t need much in alterations on the top half.
just looked up the dress…i think you’ll be fine!

I’m also a street size 6, and I think my bridal gown was ordered in a 12. Bridal fashion sizes are ridiculous!

Yeah I actually tried the exact dress on in the store, it was a size 8 and actually fit ok if you cinched up the corset pretty tight, but she said I was probably a size 6. I’m not so much worried about not being able to alter a plain size 12 as I am the fact that it’s already been altered down to a size 10…and I need to alter it farther. Not sure if that makes it harder or doesn’t matter.
