The pictures aren’t working, but I don’t see why she would change the pickups while doing alterations unless it was something that changes because of something else she had to take in, let out, hem, etc. Did you ask her about it?

I can’t see the pics and I really want to see them!  It’s hard to comment without seeing it except for I’m sorry you’re not completely happy with it.

Yeah, the pick-ups look totally different. They’re not horrible, but they definitely don’t look like the original, and if those are what you love, then your seamstress should have left your dress alone. I’d definitely ask her fixing the dress. Charging $400 and then significantly changing your dress without asking you is not OK, so I think she should fix it for you.

Oh wow, you are right that they look totally different! I would definitely express your concerns to the seamstress.

It almost looks like she added more pickups to shorten the front instead of hemming it or something…

It’s still a pretty dress though.

Oh wow… I’d see if she can fix it, or refund your alterations. She really changed it a LOT. It’s still a  very pretty dress, but the bottom looks nothing like it did originally.

I agree with the bees above. It is very different than what you went in with, and if you paid $400, you wanted the proper changes done right and no additional changes. I’d talk with them and see what they can fix. There’s still time, but I’d address it soon and see what they can do. I feel that they should either fix it or refund part of your $$, because it is not what you asked for.

Yes, I think she added more pickups rather than hemming it and it has really changed the look of your dress. I’d definitely try and get her to fix it, especially after paying so much for alterations!

You poor thing!

I would be LIVID. You need to be firm and request that your dress is fixed as it was before.

@alyssabol: I definitely think it looks like an entirely differant dress. I would be so upset. What was the alterations person thinking?? Please let us know what happens.
