    You may want to ask someone at the store about the length of the bodice for the size that you ordered.  If the sample you tried on was too big for you, the gown in your size may be more proportionate.  I’m not a seamstress, but from the photo I can’t imagine how the bodice could be shortened.

    I had a fit & flare that ran low on me, and an embellishment hit mid-thigh.  The bridal salon said they couldn’t do anything to the upper portion of the dress to raise it up.  Hopefully, you’ll have more luck, (I’m 5’5″, btw).

    @slpscientist:  Post a picture of yourself in your dress.  We’re our own worst critics- the dress probably looks much better on you than you think it does, and it should certainly look much better once it’s been altered.
