I was told from my bridal salon tsat my bustle would be $40-65. It was definitely under $100
I haven't had it done yet, but at Group USA they told me it'd be about $150 for an American style bustle. I know French would be more.
@marie_sutton: Are you going through the bridal salon where you purchased your dress? I have heard that the salons charge WAY more than a local alterations shop would. If you can find out what shop the salon uses, you can skip the middle man and go directly to the shop, usually for a much lower price.
Mine was a 13 pt under bustle and was included in my alterations, which I got a few sizes taken in, cups added and my dress hemmed as well for $135
$15 for each bustle....
BUT... I had 24 bustles.
They ended up capping the charge at 20 bustles - because it was giving me heart attack. Total=$300
I am from Cincinnati, same as Gemstone and I also went to my fitting a few weeks ago and found out I only need bustle's (WOOHOOOO) and had to get 3 @ $15 a piece.
In the hundreds sounds absurd for a BUSTLE!
I had a one point bustle added but it was really two hooks for extra support.
$20

I went for my first fitting yesterday and I don't need anything done to the dress other than cups sewn in and a bustle. The alterations lady said it would cost $165. Is this average..?? I thought it was expensive for what I am getting done.
