Kafrine:  Whew! I can’t believe all the stories we have lately about bad alterations! So glad it worked out for you though.

Wow, the new dress is gorgeous!

It’s unfortunate that they messed up the first dress, but they sure did make up for it. If only other businesses handled their mistakes as well as this one did.

Kafrine:  Oh my gosh what a nightmare! The only positive is at least it happened at a store where they were willing to make it up to you..

I had a dressmaker ruin an expensive dress I’d taken to them – I asked for it to be taken up a few cm to my knees, they measured it and still managed to make it so short you could see my underwear.. and they’d cut the fabric off too so there was no taking it down! They tried to argue with me and say that’s what i’d asked for (yea ok!).. I didn’t get my money back or anything!

Certainly not the type of drama you want less than 3 weeks out from your big day but I hope you feel just as beautiful in your new dress, it’s amazing!

That must of been the most horrible moment ever!  I’m so glad they worked with you though and I must say after looking at your previous posts I love this dress so much more than your original. I’m sure it will always be bitter sweet for you because you loved your dress so much (I would be SO sad if I couldn’t wear my dress, no matter how pretty the new one was).  But like I said I love love your new dress, I’m sucker for ball gowns 🙂  I hope the alterations go perfectly smooth with this dress!!!!

Wow I’m so sorry you just had to go through this…. it is my worst fear and I don’t know if I could handle it as graciously as you did….

Kafrine:  I had to buy a new dress! I was pretty upset and I made a big fuss in the store but they weren’t budging and I was sick of trying to reason with them so I left – it was quite a few years ago now and I wasn’t as pushy back then, getting older has made me a lot more bossy, I’d never back down if it happened now!

Allure messed up my dress that I had the neckline built up on & ended up having to buy the sample the week of my wedding.  The only alterations I had was the waist taken in & I didn’t even get to try it on once before my wedding.  I bought the dress on Tuesday,  picked it up friday, and got married Saturday!  Thankfully it fit PERFECTLY!  The only issue was a little too much cleavage (more than I wanted anyway but my pastor’s wife said it was fine & tasteful). So you’re not the only one 🙂

I’m so glad everything worked out for you! It was the absolute last thing that you needed, I’m sure. But I’m glad that you’re happy with the new gown….it’s gorgeous!
