Alterations question. Does this seem right?

secretbee33:  My dress had a hidden corset too, and if my memory serves me right, I’m pretty sure my seamstress had tied my corset, but rather loosely.  Did your seamstress just zip you in without tying the corset?  Did the dress need a lot of alterations?  I’m wondering if it was a multi-step process…

secretbee33:  Oops, my bad! Mine was just the hooks as well.  Hmm, maybe if you’re uncertain, you should call the seamstress to make sure it’s okay?  Are you having a second fitting?

She probably knows what she’s doing.  If it’s not right when you go in for the next fitting, then she can fix it then.  They screwed up my dress about 4 times before they finally got it right.  I honestly lost count how many alterations they did.

First, they added boning through the bust so I had SUPER pointy nipples.  Then to fix the boobs they just removed all the boning, which made the dress not lay flat.  So they had to add the boning back in and not put it through the boobs.  Then they had to take in the top, sides, add a bustle, and add cups.  Then the top was too tight and the waist was too loose, so they had to let out the top and take in the waist.  LOL!  It was A LOT of work!  But I paid for all the alterations up front, so it didn’t matter to me that they kept making more work for themselves.
