I’m going for alterations tomorrow – first appointment.
I’m only 5’4 so the dress obviously needs to be hemmed.
They were sayng that they would ‘pin everything’ at the appointment tomorrow. I feel like I shoudl get the dress hemmed first and then decide on the bustle.
Thoughts? What did you do?

MsGinkgo: I just went for my alterations on Saturday. They pinned my hem, put cups in to sew into my dress since every bra I tried would peek out from my dress, and they’re also taking it in about an inch under my bust. That’s it for now. The bustle will be figured out at my second fitting. She said she always likes to hem first, then do the bustle.

Hem first, then worry about a bustle.

MsGinkgo: i’m trying to remember my fittings. i’m 5 feet tall, and definately needed the hem shortened. i’m pretty sure they did the bustle at the first fitting. but they didn’t hem the train, only hemmed the front.
i’m sure where ever you are going know what they are doing with wedding dresses.

At my first fitting, we pinned for the hem and decided on the bustle. My second fitting is Thursday morning, I am so excited!
My dress needed a lot of work though. I’m a size 2 bridal and we had to order an 8 to get the waist long enough (I am SUPER long waisted) so everything on the dress has to come in a lot.
