I absolutely adore that dress! Who makes it? And I would worry about alterations when you get to them. Nothing you can do now, so don’t worry.

They either sat on the order, or the store may be on a credit hold with MS. Their dresses have a 16-20 week delivery. Sometimes they are late a week or two, but not months late.

in any case, this dress is very easy to alter. You should be just fine πŸ™‚

@purple_sofia:  The dress is beautiful! I think the alterations will be fine. I had mine taken in about 4-5 inches and was quite worried how it would turn out. (I bought a used dress off the weddingbee classified section.) It did have detailing/appliques, similar to your dress so, my seamstress had to take off the detailing first to take it in. It did cost me a pretty penny, about $525.00, but in the end, it was worth it!

Regarding the length of time you have waited…junky. I hope it is just that it’s the holidays and the mail is running slower than normal.  I think you made a wonderful choice.

@purple_sofia:  I had a lot of anxiety about Bernadette too, and it all worked out in the end.  But I was worried up until the last week and made a couple of extra alteration appointments.  I’m fussy about the way my clothes fit and my wedding dress was no exception!  I had lost about 15 pounds and had ordered the size ten too.  I felt awkward and embarrassed about pointing out all the seemingly small issues I had with the fit, but in the end, I’m glad I did.  That’s what seamstresses are for!  Just stay strong and bring a friend with a good eye to help you out/give you support.

@purple_sofia:  I have similar worries for my dress.  I don’t have Bernadette, but I, too, lost about 20 lbs and the top of mine was already big when I bought it.  I got mine quite a few months ago and recently when I tried it on, it barely stayed up on its own, so it seems like it will have to be taken in quite a bit.  I’m nervous, but I’m sure when all is said and done, it will fit me just fine.  I think when I go to my first fitting, it will put me at ease.

I scheduled it for right after New Year’s so that and holiday eating damage will already be done πŸ™‚
